I agree. A lot of entries need to be re-done, though, some more so than the rose entry.

Fruit - A ripe ovary containing seeds and any adjacent parts.
Hip - The fruit of the rose which contains the seeds.



The hip is what the hypanthium grows into, I'm guessing after the rose is fertilized. Because it has to have the seeds in it obviously to be called a hip.

Now to find a way to add this into the entry.

Erm... We probably can't use the diagram unless you can find a way to get rights to it. Also, the diagram contains some technical language that we Santharians don't use. We wants to keep things in the simplest terminology possible.

Yes I know, I was just showing you what I've been looking at. Plus, I think the diagram is a bit too rudimentary to use in the first place, it doesn't have everything on it that ought to be there.

True, true. You may wish to make up the fruit of your plant. Things don't have to be exactly the same here as they are in real life. I mean, come on, have you ever heard of a blue or purple cat in real life that wasn't dyed to be that color? ^_~ Be creative. As long as you can make it make sense, it should work fine.

Thanks for your patience and willingness to re-edit!

I like the pale blue flowers - no problem, as they are distinct from the deep blue rose which we already have.  I would also like to call dibs on the botanical diagram - I'll draw one up on 'parchment' with handwritten labels, like the one I did for the mermaid entry, so it looks authentic, ok?

It might have to wait till I get back from Korea, but I really want some 'realia' included in entries.  Should be fun!

Oh, Ok! I'm more than happy with that. I was hoping someone would do something for a diagram or picture. I might still find someone to do an actual picture for it too. I've got it all in my mind but I'm not very good when it comes to drawing realistic plants and flowers.
