I think there was a discusion somewhere about tolkien using real things in his works and thus they saying why can't we.

The way I look at it is sure, why not.  But if you want to, just don't go open up a text book and copy down what they say and post it up as your work.  Add stuff to it to make it more unique.  Also remember that this is a primative world compared to ours, we don't know some things that todays sciencetist would know.

I may be wrong in this matter but this is what I would think on the matter.  I persoanally look at something and then think: "How can I make something like that so that it is unique.  What would I need to change?"

If using an actual plant found here in our world it is more a matter of giving it a new name and the way it would be written about would not be like a dictionary as things were not written that way in the past.  Usually you would also have a reason for your naming of the plant.

I believe that we need regular plants as much if not more then our unique ones.  Root vegetables, grains, fruit, etc are all necessary.  They have the same uses as those we use, however they might just have different names, shapes, colorations, etc.

Yes, santharisize them! Though I disagree, we need more special santharian stuff!

Ok, because I was wondering if I could do some Aromatherapic plants and their oils and what they are used for. Like an Aromatherapy section, santharianized of course . Would I be allowed to do this? (I don't wanna get in trouble......ep) ....I dunno, because I noticed Santharia doesn't really have anything like that exept for the Medical herbs. But these would focus on the plants and on their oils. Does anyone else think this is a good idea, or is it just me....

I see no problem here, Nyleia... Feel free to start with a first example plant:)
