*flashing light above head marking upcoming idea*

why not have a different mathematical system?
ok I have to say the idea just came in and haven't put much thought on it, but why count in the decimal system? Don't they have another special number? The babylonians used 12 and 60 as special numbers, the computer uses binars etc. Maybe someting like octonian <sp?>

I know it would give a lot of work, for example whole calendars should need to be rewritten...

*new idea popping in*
or maybe I just fix it into the cultur of the Stratanians...

What do you think?

Hmmm... We have already decided sometime to use a number system based on the number 12 for the dwarves - I just had a look at the Dwarves entry in the races section and noticed that this isn't mentioned there. Quite a while ago a new member, Lythenian, confirmed that he would concentrate on the dwarves and elaborate the number system too in more detail, but somehow he disappeared completely. Anyway, just take it as a fact that the dwarves count with the 12 system - this is also already mentioned at some german parts of the Avaesthoría.

....And the Brownies use a base-5 numbering system...I put this under the language section quite awhile ago....so they would write 5 as 10, 10 as 20, 25 as 100 and so on...
