Title: Forum Portrait & Signature Testing Thread
Post by: Artimidor Federkiel on 31 July 2006, 02:07:04
Want to check if your Forum portrait shows up? If your signature is working? Want to check how to use BBC Codes and HTML here on the Forum? - Note: Only very basic HTML is allowed, and signatures need to be in Bulletiin Board Code (BBC), which is the kind of syntax this message board generates when pressing the buttons above, e.g. to show a picture.

Well, it seems you have found your area to experiment at will! Just reply to this thread and post whatever you want to try out, and if you're still having problems figuring something out on how to do it, feel free to post a question here and we'll help you.

Some general help on how to use the Bulletin Board Codes properly might be found here (http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php?action=help;page=post) BTW. - And now have fun with testing the Forum possibilities...

Hmmm... I notice that you try to use a font called "Goodfish" here, Judy... You need to be aware that such a font of course only shows correctly at computers where you have the font installed. Others see regular Arial, just as before.

Verrrrry interesting - because it shows up on my computer, of course - so I wouldn't know the difference.  I wonder how I would check that then - find a list of the original MS Word approved fonts, perhaps?    Vexing, as I'm a fontaddict...

I just see it as Times New Roman.....

I've never ever downloaded a new font for my laptop, so if you want to test some I can always tell you what I can see and what not. *shrug*  I can't see a way of C&Ping the font list...otherwise I would.

There aren't so many standard Windows fonts to use that look somewhat spectacular. Best way would be to make a graphic out of it :)

hmmmmmm...
a bit small, though i had it set at 60 pixels, like it says. any idea if theres a way to make it bigger? note that im a complete technophobe. :buck:

Your picture only has a height of 39 pixels... A picture that has more width than height doesn't show very well and is hardly recognizable. Ideally the picture should be 60x60, that works best, e.g. a head crop.

well, lets try something else :P i dont want to go back to that 1st portrait, i want something different for developing. this might work, its nearly square and not too detailed...

Just a test, but also...

I'm having some trouble signing in:
- I have to reset my password every time I try as the site doesn't rcognize my User Name
- I can't access the game or enter my character through"where's the game" as my User Name isn't recognised when I enter any way other than through the new password sign in

Can anyone help or give me a pointer on resolving this? I'm eager to enter my character and get into some gaming!

I can't help you in every case, but

- you can change your user name in your Profil under Account related settings.

Then, if you want to play the RPG game, you need to go there (http://www.santharia.com/adv/index.php), here you at the developement site. You need to register on the RPG seperately, maybe that confused you.

And yes, welcome :)

Don't know about your security settings, probably they are pretty high, but I'd recommend to add www.santharia.com to your trusted sites.

Thank-you both, and please excuse Newbie naivety.  Having been a pretty avid D&Dv2 adventurer a few years back I'm looking forward a game again - it's always hard to get a party together in person!

See you in Santharia - any campaign/thread you'd suggest for a newbie?

Thanks again for your help.

Laadeedum!

Have you ever put a Brownie in your soup?
Have you ever heard him cry and wail and poop?
You should try his little toes, Nell!
Don’t forget to chew the nose well!
Have you ever put a Brownie [/b] in your soup?

Have you ever eaten doch nuts dunked in mud?
Have you ever had a cockroach  in your hair?
