Title: New external Santharian artist 2: Sandara
Post by: Artimidor Federkiel on 01 February 2013, 18:11:47
Here you go... Sandara is happy to join our efforts as an external artist, check out her DeviantArt gallery here (http://sandara.deviantart.com/gallery/). Lots and lots of absolutely excellent stuff that can also be directly used, wonderful addition to the ranks of artists, I'm sure you'll agree! :D

Lovely stuff. And she is not a professional? Or maybe she is: at least one of her pictures is a cover of a published book. Anyway, there are several pictures here that we could use. Surely the mountains (http://sandara.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d5sizdc) would fit somewhere?

Also, may I be cheeky and reserve Mirror (http://sandara.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d5n6gp7) for an entry that I am hoping to squeeze out of my brain sometime soon?

Go ahead and reserve, Shabakuk - that's what these pics are here for...

As of Sandara's profession, here's what she specified for the team page:

Digital Artist plus lecturer (I teach in a game school)

I looked at the mountains also already, there could an entry go with them about a path which let once through the Tandalas, but as we have a picture there, isn't there a described mountainchain in Nybelmar

Nirmenith! A look from the south from the lands of pain, I will come up with a sentence or two hinting at that road with figures to the right especially.

There are two pics already though.. :(

Grave (http://sandara.deviantart.com/art/grave-307890166?q=gallery%3Asandara%2F514931&qo=19) would be the perfect picture for the Anaios Gap I think (see the still black & white illustrated Elvenfall story (http://www.santharia.com/library_old/tales/elvenfall.htm)). Not only do we have the gap here, but also a grave, which would stand for Diraton of Caelum. So it would be a good opportunity to make an entry on the Gap. Interestingly there's land in the middle of the Gap, which still has flowing water, so there'd need to be some kind of magical explanation for that I assume.

Instantly to use would be Griffin (http://sandara.deviantart.com/art/griffin-158174033?q=gallery%3Asandara%2F514931&qo=71), a picture of a, well, griffon, a good opportunity to replace a very old picture we currently use. Dawn patrol (http://sandara.deviantart.com/art/dawn-patrol-133555601?q=gallery%3Asandara%2F514931&qo=92) could also be used at the same entry.

Well, you could always give me the mountain pic, even if I have already two in the entry, but the Rahaz-Dath is big! :)

That Anaios Gap entry would be interesting and I write one, if nobody else wants to AND if I dream of some good ideas and the entry is easy to write, say in a day or two. Site update is when?

Edit:

I haven't looked yet, but maybe the knight would fit in one of the order entries.
http://sandara.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d57587j

Edit2: Not really, red is the colour of Etherus, Armeros has bronce and dark colors..

Watersprite=rivermaid? (adult)  ;)
http://sandara.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2ax5b1
this one too
http://sandara.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d290iag

And that one is KHALKAROTH
http://sandara.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d204ath

I'm not sure, what that beast on the pic really is, but one could add that to the description. This entry has to be rewritten, so maybe the white dragon could be integrated.

This is a perfect Koroch-fey-Mologh with a Remusian warrior.  I don't know what to do with that flower/crystal whatever against the rocks, however.  The good thing is that it is blue, so it fits in with the flora of the region.  But, again, that horse is perfect.  Compare itr to Seeker's pic, and they are definately the same breed.

LOL, Alt, the warrior is a 'She', and I think, we should not separate these two

http://sandara.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d5l1zxw

This one goes with it.

What if this is the female Lanrul? Unfortunately her hair is not black as on the pic we reserved for her.

The strange thing though - we could invent something, can't we? I looked at this one also for a while, thinking it has to be something in the north.

Krean invasion? :P

(Out for a day this weekend. Back to hell tomorrow.)

  I knew it was supposed to be female, but from the angle one couldn't really see the gender.  Besides, I was looking more at the horse.

Alright, Altario, now that I have teased you enough, let Art put that pic into the horse entry and just not mention, who that figure is, right? ;)

But we have to describe that 'thing' somehow. Why don't we put it in the Wastes? Then I can think about that later, it is fascinating!

Coren dear, keep your chin up or better keep your pecker up.  LOL I  LEO

 Did you seriously just say pecker?

I don't think making it Pidandra would have worked, Talia.  Though she was made Lanrul, she never would have been a warrior.  She inherited by her father and placed in power by those wishing to rule trough her, and really only came into her own after her ascention, which then led her to her death because she would not be a puppet.

No, I didn't say it, I just copied it out of LEO..  :buck:  and it says its colloquial, and its slang, but only for Americans vulgar, not for British people and as we have here the British spelling, about what do you talk anyway? It means courage!

I wanted to do some serious work!

Well, and what Pidandra concerns, you probably are right. It is a Himiko who has stolen one of your horses!

I can use a crop of the horse and the woman for now, so we don't really see where she's heading... Is there some kind of ancient myth in the Icelands that might point to an ancient civilization? As it could be the upper part of a crystal tower or something, which the woman discovers.

@Talia: If you can come up with something on the Anaios Gap that would be great of course. I'm not sure when we'll make the next update, but if I can get confirmation of further artists I could make one already next week. But if you write something up, it doesn't need to be added next update already, I take it any time... ;)

I have tons of weird ideas, what the wastes concern, I can add hints to an old civilisation also, rumours, or different interpretations . But that would take some time, as you know, other things first.

Anaios gap: I have to read the story again first and then see, if something springs to my mind, while doing housework or during night. Can't promise anything right now. But if, I have to write it quickly down.

Lysarian is coming soon, but this guy is so old and has initiated a lot and my English gets worse. I have to read some English books again to get my ideas out more easily. But then, when I read one of my favourite authors, Patrick Rothfuss, I think I should stop writing in English altogether :(

Would little warriors (http://th09.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/f/2011/206/8/5/little_warriors_by_sandara-d41obe0.jpg) somehow be able to fit in with Brownies?

And could Running Horses (http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2011/321/a/e/running_horses_by_sandara-d4gi7ic.jpg) fit with Centoraurians somehow?

Today is slow at work, and the boss isn't here so I kind of came in here briefly.

Dek

I think 'little warriors' could definitely be a good Brownie pic. It might go pretty well with this (http://santharia.com/tribes/brownies/brownie_riding_techniques.htm) entry. That'd probably be a Rookie question, though. Perhaps she might know of a better place for it.

Title: Re: New external Santharian artist 2: Sandara
Post by: Artimidor Federkiel on 07 February 2013, 22:08:57
Yeah, all good suggestions. The Brownie pic can easily be placed at the mentioned entry, no problem I'd say. The Running Horses might need a bit more thought to place it somewhere in Centoraurian context. Ideally pics should be spread to various entries, so that we don't have multiple pics when it can be avoided. Need to look around a bit.

BTW: Still need suggestions to harbour some of Reegen's pics (http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,15424). This weekend should be a picture update, ideally with stuff from all new artists, so we'd still need something concrete in this regard if you have an idea or two.

We still have no picture of Baveras - how about this one (http://sandara.deviantart.com/art/endless2-313727718?q=gallery%3Asandara%2F514931&qo=17)?

Yes, please!
I looked at it and pondered about it already, but forgot  it while looking at myriads of other pics. She is not the beautiful goddess which resides in my head, but as the picture in my head still needs to be put on paper with more skill I have in the moment, it is the nicest one we found so far.

Cool then... If we put this one up we only have Grothar left then from our Santharian Gods pantheon :)

- I think "Autumn Herald" (http://sandara.deviantart.com/art/autumn-herald-74181728) would be perfect for Deci's Meelimad (however it's spelled). I'll go and see if he left a draft lying about somewhere, which I can finish in his absence.

- These (http://sandara.deviantart.com/art/white-hind-92526714) two (http://sandara.deviantart.com/art/vain-harpy-147027962) beautiful ladies deserve a story of their own. Maybe Shaba could be persuaded to do the honours? (Gods below and gods above, shield me in advance from the wrath of his girlfriend.)

- These (http://sandara.deviantart.com/art/early-days-75968850) jolly fellows look a lot like the Maeverhim to me. ;) Note that not one of them touch the ground.

- Perfect (http://sandara.deviantart.com/art/princess-and-fish-119100684) for Deci's Tarshiinites, which were inspired by the Far-East. Need to check if he wrote any entries on them. Or was it the Tiaquaitans? I can't remember. Will need to dig into the Compendium.

The Maeverhim suggestion definitely works nicely I'd say, even with the long ears and everything - so this one can indeed go straight in :) As for the others we need more details... BTW: If the pictures for some reason don't show up when you click on the links (which happened to me) just click on the magnifying glass over the picture and it will open.

There's also one new one by Sandara, see here (http://sandara.deviantart.com/art/Little-Green-Video-354159200), complete with making-of video for wanna-be artists...

Art, this one could be a second one for the watersprogs/Maryons entry, maybe a bit too much breast, but no teat!
