Hello Talia! I posted this request here before but I think it got deleted when you cleaned the thread :)    Are you still interested in providing me a map for "the Zhunite Project: Part 1 / Newcomers start here" thread at the Nybelmar board?

Yes, just mail me what exactly you want to have!

That's the problem, I don't know what you had in mind :o  Also, I don't think I can cut out sections from the bigger map :o  :o

I've been trying to make a new picture of the Academy layout for a few days.  Anyway, I came up with a new design for the outer walls, and I was wondering if you were okay with it.

I saw this in one of your comments at the RPG Board, concerning the Shendar:
Quote
there is no word for father and so "parents "
I can understand if the Shendar doesn't have a native 'father' concept, and thus their language might not originally have a word for it.  However, they must have encountered this concept when they met other tribes, so surely they have developed a way to express such a concept since then?  Otherwise they would not be able to say things like "the Santhran's father", for example.  Perhaps they borrowed a word from the Stratanians or some other nearby tribe, or constructed a new term for it (eg. the 'mother-man' example you used in the comment)?

@Mina:

Well, I have not decided how much the Shendar dialect has developed away from the original Darian, how much they took from the Lost people,so it is difficult to say what is a foreign word. I think they would use "father" as such a foreign word, but only the more educated ones. It will be a strange idea for every Shendar child who discovers the concept for the first time. It would be wrong to use it in the case of the RPG char, for it is a Shendar woman who speaks.

Hello, Talia. :)

If you are not too sick lately, could you give my Appearance section a look through for the Remusian Men rewrite?  Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi Talia,

I would love to have your opinion on my Serphelorian Tribe (http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,12163.0.html).  I have always appreciated your keen eye for detail, and would be very pleased if you could find the time to look at this.

Thank you,

Could you please take another look at my ranger CD for me?

I think I have address all the issues you had.

*beep beep beep* Paging Talia, Paging Talia.

Sorry I know you say you are not commenting but this isn't really commenting...really... ok sort've. Hope you don't mind, but feel free to decline, I don't want to put you in an uncomfortable position. Anyway...

*Breathing Hard* Phew, that was close. I almost put a fish on the coast of the Rahaz-Dath without asking. :D I got so scared.... you should've seen me banging away on that keyboard. The details are In Here (http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,12716.msg152661/topicseen.html#new) but the overview is this. Jun'era, territory originally extended down to Strata, and I wasn't sure if that made sense or if you actually even wanted a fish down there. This will involve a question on Stratanian diet. So, I'm going to invite another trip to the desert. Mhmm let's see how I do this time. Hehehe... :)

Just when you get a chance, would be great if you could throw some light on it.

Thanks!

Edit: I'll have a look! ;) T.

Talia dear...can you take another peek at my Kaaer'dar'shin Beliefs entry (http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,12710.0.html) and see if I am missing anything? Oh thanks!  :D

Miss Talia,

Please peek at my revised Kaaer entries here  (http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,12436.0.html)and here (http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,12710.0.html).

Specifically, I'd like any input on the religious aspect, obviously.  :D

EDIT: I hope to be able to get to it tomorrow (when my little visitor will be gone), otherwise you have to wait till next week, for we are away till Tuesday night. But I will have a look! :) I might take it with me and work offline! (What a strange feeling!)

No need to call me Miss - or would you like to be addressed in this polite way as well ? ;) (One never knows!)

Talia,

I'd like to work on cleaning up the cosmology development guidelines. I'd like to add some entry proposals and revise the current ones. For example, the Wind Element myth is being worked on now. I'd like to add some possible North myth ideas and the nature spirits overview proposal I had.

I'm just looking to update the area a bit! Let me know what you think.  ;)

As I've heard that Azhira got your ok via PM on the Moderator rights and nobody else objected, I've just given those rights to her now as well. :) So all fine in this regard.

Hello Talia! Hope the ceremony went well! Nothing urgent, but whenever you have half an hour to spare, could you take a quick look at this? http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,13613.msg169117/topicseen.html#new

Post by: Ta`lia of the Seven Jewels on 16 June 2009, 19:06:43
Yes, I will, but not before I have commented on some other stuff. (You know, I can't refuse a request of you ;) )

So, surely not before next week, is that early enough? Or do you need to have comments before the update, which is next weekend, I fear?

Title: Re: Talia!
Post by: Coren FrozenZephyr on 16 June 2009, 20:48:00
I don't mind either way. Thanks! :)

Maybe you could quickly skim the first two pages or so to see if the "tone" is accessible? (if not I can use the week in between to further simplify the entry)

He told me I needed to speak with those who had issues with the previous draft and have them review the updated version.

He said he wouldn't give his approval because he had no issues with the first draft, but others did.

Just doing as I was instructed.

I doubt that anybody instructed you to come and bark at me.

Telàmorí, you are writing yourself:

Quote
I am not going to colour what has been changed, as I completely rewrote each section.

And I'm not going to reread a completely rewritten submission. If Alysse and others - and Art  - are ok with it, then  why should I go through it again? I have put enough time into it and I won't spend more, especially not if my attention is not welcome.

Title: Re: Talia!
Post by: Telàmorí V'uoríen on 20 July 2009, 09:50:47
...

I think you are misinterpreting my visitation, Talia. I figured it would be easier to read uncoloured as it was completely rewritten from top to bottom according to your preferences. I wasn't sure who to speak to, so I spoke to Artimidor, who directed me to you. I apologise if you feel barked at, as that was far from my intention, but it seems you don't like me to begin with.

I guess I am between a rock and a hard place at this point, as no one will look at it because they are waiting for another.

It is your approval which it ultimately desired, as you were the one who spent the most time picking it apart originally, to make it what it is today.

Forgive me if my attentions are incorrect and I will simply let the entry fall into the abyss.

Title: Re: Talia!
Post by: Artimidor Federkiel on 20 July 2009, 14:38:55
Well, then I will wait a bit if there are still comments, and if there aren't any, I assume that everyone's fine with it and integrate it, Telàmorí :) And I didn't hear you barking, just friendly asking. Personally I'm glad that you took it in your hands to do another draft, so I'd be happy to put it up eventually.

Title: Re: Talia!
Post by: Ta`lia of the Seven Jewels on 20 July 2009, 17:52:47
Artimidor, that was not just friendly asking, maybe not barking, but that was what came to my mind when I read it a second time after I tried to be friendly in my first answer. It is a pity, that you don't see the difference between:

"Was told I need your approval to move forward with my entry."

or

"I was told I need your approval to move forward with my entry, could you please have a last look at it?"

Especially, as Telà told me already before, that my comments are not welcome.

As I said, there are other comments meanwhile, like Alysses's, which voice that it is ok, so just put it up. No need to spend more developing time on it.

Just clarifying what seems to be the result of a language barrier here:

In English, dropping the subject of the sentence(in this case I) is a very coloquial way of speaking and is frequently used when the subject being discussed is evident.  In this case, Telmori wasn't commanding you to look at her entry Talia, but rather speaking in an informal manner.

And don't wait until after Christmas!  ;)

Azhira, what if you come to me and help me do all these unnecessary household chores and more other things which need fixing?? Then I can fulltime work for Santh! Accommodation and food are free! Including Christmas cookies, which of course, you have to bake first for me and my family.

I haven't logged in in WoW for a week! And I need this to get rid of my aggressions!

Fox is waiting too...

Let's see, I try to give your stuff at least a quick read through. Maybe it is enough to send you back to your desk! ;)

Wait, there is this unfinished task we definitely need a developer for, who is versified in religion.

Work for you, just speak to Altario, and all will be fine

Tidy up, you are the right person to do so!

Hello Talia. I noticed that the double Kilij doesn't have its own write up in the weapons section, or did I miss it? If not I would love to do a write up of it for you. I may een have a drawing I can share of it. Also. My EZ codes for color in my poisons post don't seem to be working. Could you help me with that?

Post by: Ta`lia of the Seven Jewels on 08 November 2009, 01:36:22
Hello Stormraven,

I don't exactly know, what you mean with write up, there exists already an entry about it, here (http://www.santharia.com/weapons/double_kilij.htm) and I think this is enough.

Fox does the swords overview and I think he will add it somehow. So there is no action required,  but thank you for the offer!

To your ezcode problem: You haven't been here for too long! ;) The board is running with another software now for over two years. So, you have to remove all that stuff and set the colours new with how this board works. Sorry!

Hey Talia! I am seeking your knowledge about the Norrak! You are really the only one with any extended knowledge about it, and I was wondering if you would be able to provide a short overview/description of it for my Lesser Drakes (http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,14139.0.html) overview. It is just a list of all the lesser drakes which are mentioned, but there isn't a lot known about the Norrak currently.

I know you are busy, but if you get the chance, it would be greatly appreciated!

Talia,

Take a look at my Caaehl Mountain myth about Phl'agh and Alt's Kor'och entry. We tell similar stories about a hero slaying their gods...but we can't have two different tribes with the same concept, can we?

Title: Re: Talia!
Post by: Ta`lia of the Seven Jewels on 06 May 2010, 03:11:31
Without reading your both entries, I can say, that there are often similar myths throughout the world. I can't pin down them right now without doing some research, but I still remember the "aha" when I studied those things. I was astonished to learn, how akin they were to each other , and not just two. They should not be too analogue in every aspect though. I will have a look later.

Post by: Altario Shialt-eck-Gorrin on 06 May 2010, 03:14:39
I stated in the entry that I don't have a problem with this.  They are far from being exactly the same.  Kor'och overthrew the gods after he died.  As well, I agree Talia that there are many many many examples on Earth that have similar concepts.

Hi Ta'lia,

I did a song at Christmas time, and you were the focus of one verse of it. One of the lines in your verse was rather 'iffy' and Alexandre was kind enough to suggest three alternatives, I preferred one of them in particular (as it rhymed with 'Swing') but wanted your thoughts on it. Here is the song (http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,14769.msg187893.html#msg187893). :)

Heya Talia,

When you have a bit of time, would you mind looking through the History section of the Zohologica (http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,14440.msg182601.html#msg182601) please? I have implemented the details you suggested, but since I'm not very intimate with the whole weave of the family's history and manners I was wondering whether you could tell me if it fits in as it is now, or whether things need changing. Ta much,

Jonael
