Title: Styrash and Thergerim Fonts on a Mac Post by: Shareed on 26 April 2002, 08:36:00 I have good news and Bad news. I was able to convert the Ancient/Modern Styrash and Thergerim fonts into Mac format and they work in Mac OS X!
The bad news is that I can't seem to get them to work in Mac OS 9. I'm still working on it, but the conversion program I'm using only has a three day trial,so I might not be able to work in out before then. Anyways, if you want the files I can e-mail them to you, or I can host them for you to download if want. That is, if Artimidor and Koldar don't mind. I couldn't cut it as a begger, nor a craftsmen. So I became a mixture of the two. A mercenary.... Does the font after installation also show up at the Styrįsh dictionary on the site for example?
I don't have a Mac, so I can't tell if it works, but I know that Talia for example has one as well, so she could try if it works. Ok, just keep on trying and mail it to me (or to Talia so that she can try) when you're done!
Title: Re: Styrash and Thergerim Fonts on a Mac Post by: Shareed on 26 April 2002, 15:04:00 OK, i tested it in Internet Explorer and OmniWeb, both in OS X. The Styrash dictionary doesn't show the runes in either browser, just regular letters. But the Thergerim font does work in Omniweb for the dictionary. In IE the dwarven font shows up as blocks for some reason, so it's trying to read that one at least. So I'm thinking you set the page for the Styrash fonts up differently then the dwarven fonts, or my browsers just don't like the elven font. I'll download some other browsers and test them out.

Just summerizing from the last post: Omniweb: Styrash modern/ancient: No, Thergerim: Yes IE: Styrash/ ancient(just blocks)/ modern: No, Thergerim: just blocks Opera Styrash: No, Thergerim: No ICab : Styrash: No, Thergerim: No As for the the styrash, I know why it doesn't work. The little dash above the "a" messes up the name of the styrash fonts on the mac, thus the font call you make in your page is not recognized because the styrash fonts name isn't the same. If you took the little dash thing out of the original font and re-encoded it,or whatever you have to do, and took it out of your html calls, I bet it would work. Anyways, that's my theory. Gotta go now. I'll work on it somemore. I couldn't cut it as a begger, nor a craftsmen. So I became a mixture of the two. A mercenary.... The styrash fonts work great. They show up in IE and in Word, so those are ready to go. The theregrim font works in OS X text editors but not OS 9, and it won't work in My IE, the letters show up as blocks, but Omniweb shows it just fine. Anyways, where should I send them? When you only messed around with the names and format and not with the Glyphs, just sent it to Art, it should be fine then!

Anyways, I sent them to Artimidor |
