Beige??!! How neutral and....hmmm....boring... I would prefer a blue, or a red, but well, I suppose if you mix a lot of lights of stars, you're doomed to come to a boring near to grayish colour :P

The funny thing was, people thought it was green until the scientists found out they had a technical malfunction. It was a forest green. Quite enchanting really.

Oh, no, you are all wrong.

The average colour of the universe is zlenk.

Or possibly a fish.

Er.... 32?

No?

Ok, I will try one last time.  The colour of the universe is the same as the colour of God's eyes.

42 was the answer to the question about the meaning of life in special and general, I think Judith is on the right track, LOL!

What? The average color of the universe is....BEIGE?!? How odd....I always kinda thought it would be black upon more depressing black, except for stars here and there and pulsars, and blackholes and wormholes, the occasional dead moon-mouse perhaps.

Wow, so all around us is beige...that's explains a lot of things actually, now I think about it, like bell-bottomed trousers.

There's an easy answer to your question, Tyrian, and it's simply that since we can't see or measure it, it doesn't matter what color it is.

*puts on intelligent-looking glasses and a fake beard*

But there is no easy answers to the universe, or so my physics teacher said. There's a lot of things to think about. If space is expanding, what is it expanding into?

Eskon asks : "There's a lot of things to think about. If space is expanding, what is it expanding into?

Dala's answer : A giant marshmellow perhaps? You think?

Hmmmm... but if 42 is the answer, what would the question be. Many wise scholars have thought it over, and some believe that the question is "What is 6 times 7." However, they may be wrong. Because 42 is definately the answer to THAT questioin, but is it THE question??? Hmmm...

Actually it is what is six multiplied by nine. Arthur pulled it out of a scrabble bag. Beige though. Or as they called it, universal Latte? Or skyvory. All nice, I always knew the universe was boring. How depressing to be right.

What the question is, is quite simple: It is: "What is the question?" And the answer to this question is 42. Interpreting this as a philosopher I have to say this indeed makes a lot of sense. And - thanx to Douglas Adamas - we have finally found the funny side of it;)

Post by: Belgarion the Great on 12 July 2002, 13:57:00
That's simply not true Arti.

If the question is what is the question, and the answer is forty two then the question is forty two.

If forty two is the question and also the answer we come up with: Forty two?, Forty two.

This makes a whole heap of no sense.

And how do you get that the question is "What is the question" There's no proof backing this up after all.

6*9 in a different base, though. If I remember correctly, its a very bad thing if we know the question and the answer at the same time, isn't it? Or am I not making sense.

The answer and question may not be known at the same time in the same dimension. It was one of the rules god made. We're trying to bypass it now because god isn't around (Due to the fact that he exists purely on faith and if anyone had proof that would disspell the faith and we had proof in the babelfish as nothing like this could conceivably evolve by chance and thus we have proof and god, realising this, says "Oh Poo" and dissapears in a puff of logic). So we can ignore god's rules and find out!

Please don't mix up science and believe, Belgarion, even I try to avoid it if possible and not especially asked for.
I don't think that you know the rules god made, LOL.
