Title: O Grothar
Post by: Rayne (Alýr) on 28 April 2004, 20:32:00
I should like.. make a little name for all these sonnets. You know, since they all follow this sort of God theme.

General Shakesprean sonnet form.

O Grothar

O Grothar, sweet thy sky so smiles on the land
On blossoms, those which sway under thy sigh.
Thou sculpt the desert dunes with thy soft hand.
And lift the happy birds’ wings up so high!
With clouds, thou shadest weary world from sun,
Allowing to all life a bit of peace,
And when the summer’s reign at last is done.
Thy silver drops, with love, thou dust release.
In winter all shines white with fragile flakes
Descending from the heaven, soft and gray.
In cold, thou kiss the frozen crystal lakes
And let the shrouding snow mist all away.
Grey King, I give to thee a bit of wine,
Beneath the open sky, thy greatest shrine.

Another fine poem, though I'm not 100% sure if the old English is always correct (e.g if there shouldn't be another form at "sculpt").

Aside from that - well done, Troubadour;)
