Sli'..... Somethin'. It's been a year or so since the site was shutdown, and I have a bad memory for stuff like that.

Thank you, Bard, I'll contact Coren and ask. Shainave (New word!)

I never studied monks, so thanks. Now, excuse me and I'll begin fixing this.

Martial Monks, Drasil. Religious monks are pacifists, and therefore don't use weapons. And I honestly didn't know about the Efryst, I just assumed it would be within the polearm section. Well, I'm not too good with names, any suggestions if the true name isn't acceptable?
4  Santharian World Development / Miscellaneous / Efryst re-entry on: 14 January 2007, 03:14:19
Description
At first an Efryst just looks like a shorter version of a quarterstaff-which it basically is to most. The Efryst come in varying length, from a full two peds to barely over a ped. The main difference between the Efryst and quarterstaff(and the link between it and the nunchaku)is that the weapon was trisection, each section being just over a fore. The three sections were usually held together by thin chains, which were usually less than a fore, though these chains can be longer depending on the length of the weapon.
These weapons are sometimes elaborately decorated with designs-though this is relatively uncommon as the weapons rarely lasted longer than five years.

Usage
Efryst are mainly used by the Tethinrhim tribe, but almost all other races and tribes can use it-it's just exceedingly rare.

Fighting Style
The weapon is hard to handle at first, which is why there are very few masters, but, when the three sections are unconnected users usually hold the outer two sections near the chained end. Because of the fact that they place their hands so close to the attacking ends of the weapon, users demonstrate extreme force in their attacks. When they take a one handed grip on one end and swing, the resulting arc is much larger and more force comes into the swing, but in order to stop it the wielder must use his or her own body to block the impact-usually resulting in bodily harm.
The main way to attack with a Efryst is to hold the ends of the outer sections and attack with short powerful thrusts or swings. Blocking and intercepting blows with this weapon is fairly easy, but usually causes one of the sections back against the user. The fighting style may sound simple to the ear, and the effects against the wielder may sound small-which they are to the pure martial power a well trained wielder.

Origin:
The Efryst was originally developed by the Tehinrhim elves as a training device-almost two thousand years ago, before Santharia was established. Soon after it was intigrated into a true weapon, usually used by Tethinrhim travelers, and, more often, for training and sparing purposes.

Of course not! The old board I was on was nothing like this. The magic systems on how spells were created and cast were similar to this-as in you had to manipulate different essences to your will. I didn't mean to imply that you guys copied anything.

Santharia and Tolkein both took the time to create an indepth world pf theit own, but quite frankly, I don't see where we involve Tolkein at all. Care to enlighten me? I'm sure that if we could all see where you see this we could fix it, or at least compromise it.

The magic here is based much on the magic of my board(though it has since been laid to waste...) so it was pretty easy for me to figure it all out-still a lot more complex, but similar enough.
Nybelmar is merely what I've familiarized myself with, weapons, plants and animals are what I would like to invest my time into. And now that I've read my first post, I can't blame you all.

Thanks for the welcome, by the way! Much, much more friendly than most other places.

Thank you, Niccoli... Now if you'd elaborate? I don't understand anything other than speak to Coren and say.... What?

Hello, soon-to-be aquaintices(or rival/enemy....)of the developer form, I am Zayrhh and have been nosing my way around the site since...... Late August, early October? I don't remember. Well, anyway, since that long forgotten time, I've been busy familiarizing myself with Nybelmar, the beastiary, ther herabium and the magic sections.
My knowledge about ancient warfare and weapon is large and vast(I am not a snob for saying this!)and would love to write entries on weapons missing from the compendium and those that are yet to be imagined.

-Your derranged soon-to-be Santerran person, thing Zayrhh
