Ximax is the only city with enough mages to have an anti-mage movement IMHO. If you can count the mages of importance in your province on one hand, why bother having a political movement against them? In Ximax people also see the every day applications (the good side) of magic though, so if it has opponents they would be very few and not that influential.


People used to be/are afraid of things they don't understand, so mages would be looked at with a lot of superstition IMHO. I could easily see people chasing mages out of the city because their Light spell made the cows give sour milk or something. I don't see them discussing mages over a beer though, but rather tell spooky stories about those dense woods next door.

Maybe go with Religious Magic instead of Devine? Since that might work better to put shamans and such under it as well?

I don't really see how this could be a true organization given the previous arguments on how rare mages are. That doesn't mean there won't be any superstition, just that it isn't organized.

I'd go for the engineering myself. Actually, I am going for the engineering myself If it's anything like the Belgian system, the engineering courses will give you a broader start (engineering in general) and eventually be a little more theoretic. For robotics and AI the engineering one is most likely the best choice and you should see programming in either one of them.

That is all going by comparison with the Belgian options of course.

Well, I suppose you could connect two cuts and have a connection between the two car'allia through the blood or something. Not sure how reagents would work.

You can make a clear distinction between water and air, so there's a border somewhere. That's not to say those borders couldn't blur or even disappear.

Each element can alter the 'overall idea' to some extend. The overlaying thingy is mostly something coren used IIRC, but it is supposed to be on top of the car'all. Never really used it myself though.

Personally I don't have anything against it, but as it was brought up for Coren's thingy I figured it needed mentioning here as well.

The Pillars of Revival sounds a bit iffy. Zombification I could see fitting in, but truly reviving? That's going into the spiritual aspects of things as well, not to mention you'd also have to have a way to cure/heal the dead body from whatever it was it previously died from to prevent it from just dying again instantly.

Otherwise I don't see any problems with the system. There's still the ban though. So far the previous 'exceptions' didn't really fall under it as they were already existing systems (with referenced to them on the site) being worked out.

Wouldn't you be the one to pick out a spell you (thought) you saw mistakes in? I don't remember any of Twen's spells having issues.

I think it would depend. Car'all can be altered by everyday things. Heating up an object strengthens Fire ounia links, like sphere I. Heating up one end of a metal bar will create a reactions similar to sphere II (heat spreading over the entire object). Burning something removes Fire ounia from an object for example (it becomes less flamable).

Bordering car'allia clearly have an influence on each other. Sunlight will warm up rocks, the cold breeze cool them down. I doubt touch would allow for sphere II transferring of ounia, but it certainly would make sphere III transfers easier.

Where does one border end and another start? If you throw salt in water, does it have one or two car'allia? I guess that could result in some interesting discussions for Ximaxians

Yeah, the idea is something laying over the the car'all, keeping the whole thing together in a way. It's what prevents things from changing without external trigger. Things that are living can return more to there original idea (regrowing a lost nail) then dead things.
