Heres a selection of my favorite works that Ive written. Do you think it could get into the library?

Story of a Childhood

The pouring rain
Whispered a song
Weaved dreams
Carved a story

The blacktop
Cooled by the downpour
Holds the memories
Of our childhoods

Palms pressed
Against the fence
Bare feet padding on the ground
Laughing, running, playing

The wind tells a tale of the past
Though the river of life sweeps us into our future
Unexplained
And unknown

The abandoned schoolyard
Sits, cold and alone,
Dark and dreary
Lost reminder of the past
Unseen
To Today's eyes
That shed the tears
That coat the ground

Ocean of Eternity

The mist sprays gently on my face,
The cool, comforting breeze surrounds me,
I feel the lapse of a thousand years around my ankles -
The ocean of eternity

Looking around me,
I see gray skies covering the world.
It seems that there is nothing but calm and serenity left -
The ocean of eternity

Time races by as I stand,
Unaware,
At the coast of the ocean,
Watching the outcome of centuries of work -
The ocean of eternity

The ripples in the aged sand
stretch endlessly over the earth,
And etched in between them are small pools of water
That cool my feet as I take in the air around me -
The ocean of eternity

Gettysburg/Aftermath

A field so vast
A sky so dreary
The sun fades
The darkness grows

A crippled mind
A wounded body
The blood is drawn
The tears flow

The aftermath
A dreaded sight
A gray morn
A dead life

The grass stained
The ground covered
Bravery of life
I hold in my hand

A shattered cannon
A shattered heart

A field so vast
A sky so dreary
The sun fades
The darkness grows

A crippled mind
A wounded body
The blood is drawn
The tears flow

Yearbook

Dust bound,
Clasped in memory,
Forgotten,
And forlorn

The attic window
Pours shattered fragments of light
Across the floor,
Flashing a hundred colors,
Catching with one brilliant beam,
A thin-bound, withered book

Stealing my eye,
A faded vision
Of a long ago summer day

When we used to laugh and play
Loose, mindless,
Irrational
We forgot about the world

I remember
That face
Familiar?
Time...
Time was not of essence
It sped by,
No,
It never passed

I remember
The time we had
Together
No,
No longer.
We are apart.

The ancient book
Clasped to my chest,
The tears,
Drying on my face
The light,
Shattering,
The time,
Passing...

Rain

The rain falls softly
A rhythmic harmony
A disturbance in the air,
Yet a calming melody

Fog thickens
The sky darkens
A bolt of thunder flashes
Across the sky

Such a powerful force,
Yet a voice unheeded
Like a trampled command

Streets abandoned
A single light glows;
faint,
soft,
warm

The world is crying
Now drenched in tears
A dreary sight

Forest of Dreams

Abandoned
Cold
I feel the darkness draw over me
Surrounded
Alone
By a thousand trees
Of the deepest ebony

The scene of death
It did so hint
That lost magic
Was there hidden

Amongst the thousand pillars,
The thousand towering trunks,
Leaning over me
Watching me
Feeding me darkness

Silence
Was the only thing to be heard
The roar
Of silence

That echo
Echoes of the past,
Memories of the future,
Did here reside,
Reverberating off of every stained tree
Filling me
With despair
And hope

The faint light
Dipped in from above
Painting me wings
Wings that did shine with the ever most beautiful
Colors of darkness

That night
I flew
My wings,
My mind,
Carried me to the heavens,
To join the glowing stars,
To join Orion, Leo,
Ursa and Taurus,
The guards of the earth
And to guard with them
My earth

Let Go

Close your eyes, Tight
Breath, Deep
Let Time,
The endless river,
Flow by

Trample your fears
Forget your troubles
Soar to the unexplored dreams in your mind

Watch your regrets
Seep through your fingers
Blow them away,
Wave them goodbye,
Forever

Let your mind fall
Soft as a feather
Into a sea
Of friendship, love, and compassion

Just let go
Just fly

Close your eyes,
Fall into a dream
Leave your love
Of fear and fire

Take a step
Away from the world,
And feel the breeze
Of nothing

Take a minure to rest,
To find yourself,
And the path you take

Let the winds sweep you away,
But don't let go
Stay anchored
To the hearth of ease

Let the weights grow,
Though shake them off
if they're too many

Look into the eyes
Of love and hate
Push them away,
Forever

Just let go
Just fly

Sunset

A golden blanket
Like a web of light
Engulfing the world below,
Makes the creatures dream of flight
And the wolves to the light hallow

The mountains stretch for ever high,
Like blades,
Tearing through the silky sky

An ocean cries from one to another,
Covering the forgotten secrets below,
Forever to smother
That soft enlightening glow

The sand sprinkled softly
On the hearth
Of the cool sweet earth below
And softly, quietly, through the night,
The sound of harps echo

The Theory of Midnight

A near abandoned meadow,
Dew licking at the blades of grass,
Reflecting the soft sweet glow of the moon

Darkness creeps down my spine
As I lie on a slope of silver,
A small pond of gold before me

A swift breeze tosses the thin branches
Of the sassafras about,
And a mighty oak grasps at the sky

The stars flicker brilliantly in the sky,
In the canvas,
In the Theory of Midnight

A rabbit darts across the field,
It’s down shimmering in tempered rhythm
Sharp eyes warning

As the wind passes by,
It ripples the fragile pond,
A soothing, gentle movement

An owl, cunning and bright,
Races over me with unearthly speed and elegance!
O, the wonders of midnight!

The spectacular tarp of night,
An artist’s dream,
The Theory of Midnight

A feeling of weariness passes over me,
And I drift into a calm, relaxed sleep;
The breeze, tickling my chin, coaxes me into exhaustion

Hours later, I awake,
Observing now a new miracle,
The story of sunrise

Savanna

My sharp eyes find motion,
Hamstrings begin to tense.
My focus consumes one creature -
Striped and gray scale.

Silence pulsing through my mind
While every muscle prepares for the strike ahead.
Concentrate,
Anticipate.

The moment strikes –
Brindled paws striking the sand,
Tearing the savanna grass,
Carrying my mottled body at intense speeds.

A squall brushed my spine,
My eyes narrow,
My target grows larger as I approach.

Every sound
Is but a landmark in time,
Instantly forgotten:
All I can hear
Is the steady beat of my palms,
The steady beat of my heart.

Time freezes –
A whinny is heard,
Gone.
Claws burrow into flesh –
A limp body falls.

Again the grass whispers;
A hush falls
Across the golden plain –
The golden silence.

I just found this board, and I've got lots of poetry to post.

Sorry Dras, I just had to.  :D

Youve got a point. And a good one. At any rate, there was another spell in my mind which i think i just might work on first. A wind spell that reduces the casters weight, and lifts them into the air. While doing so, it reduces the effort it takes for them to lift and move things around. This spell would also give them the ability to levetate objects and hurl them through the air using a gust of wind. And as if this werent enough, I was also thinking about a Water spell that erodes things extremely quickly. by moving a small amount of water against, say, a block of stone, the caster could cut away at it like with a saw.
