Bard you keep coming up with these great pics but then leave us hanging. It is like watching the beginning of a movie and then having it shut off halfway through. Or another comparison, it is like watching LOST. Hehe
I only bring this up because I am excited to see the end result...... Swamp, Knight overlooking city, Elven Lass, Monsonius..... Plus I want to learn from how you handle the comments you receive.
As for me I have my own list I am working on, I need to finish up Gouran and the Elven city. I have some other plans in the work.
Jonael, lately it appears only Judith and I have been active on this forum. And between the two of us I have to admit I think she would be the better choice. I don't think my style would fit the kind of character you want. However if you give me a list of other things you have created I may be interested in developing a pic for something else.
Here is another version. I have gotten through many of the comments. Haven't addressed Alysse's and Art's yet. Ran out of time. And even though I lightened the pic a bit I still want to mess around with some colors.
The Santharian Dream is a wonderful place full of people and "creatures" working together to create a wonderful world. We would love to have you join us and I look forward to seeing what you can contribute. Take some time to get to know us and help us get to know you better as well. We work closely here to ensure a fully integrated world that "works".
Exmortis, cool name, Are you human? I personally prefer humans. Although there is a big green monstrosity lurking around that I have become fond of. Of course if you are elven or dwarve...hmm. well, don't worry everyone is accepted here.
Just make sure you thouroughly read through the newbie forum stuff. It will help you in getting off to a smooth start.
This is a great start, Sicillia. You have the basic points down. Now the fun part is to make it "colorful". Take what Alt is saying to heart. Weave it into Santharia. Maybe make up an eyewitness account of someone getting this disorder, and the havoc it caused. Or perhaps a certain race is more susceptible to this and you can explain a myth behind why. Just some ideas. Use your imagination.
And keep in mind Santharia does not have modern doctors. So keep it medieval.
Alright it took a while but here it is the Elving City Hall. I hope it meets the expectation of a Masterwork Pic. So let me have it, bring on the comments and suggestions. As always please generously mix your honesty and kindness.
A quote from the Elving entry to help out.
" The City Hall. Next door is a similar domed tower, attached to a large oblong building that has a rectangular spire with a flying dragon, wings outstreched, gleaming silver, on its top. This is the center of Quaelhoirhim cultural and city life. This enormous buliding houses the library, the art gallery, and places for learning healing, lore, history, art and crafts, languages (Elving produces some of the greatest linguists, and many from all races apply to study here - being elven helps, as you can actually get into the real city, but humans and others are invited to interview, they may be met in the false city and if successful will be brought to the real city). The idea is that Elving should produce all the skills it needs to be a thriving city. Anyone is free to wander through its doors, and marvel at what is contained within. Here are housed the Quaelhoirhim tomes (the original version) complete and unabridged (except the part where somebody has written the plans for the Battle of the Fores over several pages of the manuscript)."
The flora in the pic includes " Inside the city, fauna continues as it does without. Elandim is home to the peace pine and two species of tree related to the cloewen tree: The in'ilá (Styrásh: "climber", lit. "scaling the unmoving") is like its wild Quallian relative a sparse shrub, though this sub-species has a climbing habit, often found wound around the trunks of other trees and through branches. In Elving they are often carefully grown around doors and windows. The bejón’efér is a small tree, with a bushy, bright green crown with huge red and orange flowers, that resembles a tiny fire. It thrives in the clearing that Elving has been built on. Roses are a favourite, and are found in all colours and imaginable shapes." I also included the Adlemir tree, that is the one the stairs are going up on the left side.
An eerie strain of Orc Flu methinks. This sounds fun. Does it spread quickly? How long does it last? Do people die from it? Are all races equally effected? Can Orcs get it? Or do they already have it? hmmmm I can't wait to find out.
Sounds like a disease some Orc tribes may want to try and synthesize for mass affect. Bioweapons!
Thanks Garret. This looks great. I like that this warg looks different than other wargs. I will change up my Gouran pic so the Warg looks like this one. I will save the old version for something else. Have a great trip, it sounds like a lot of fun.
I got it. He meant they look like a cross between Elves and Orcs and they are twice as nasty as most Orcs. And let me tell you I am excited about this one. My goal is to bring to canvas "the ultimate nightmare taken form"
BUT FIRST I must finish my pic of the Elving City Hall.
Considering this entry was posted this past weekend your comments would probably be most appropriate in the " mistakes and typos" forum. However as you already mentioned in your entry the suggested changes probably are not necessary... just an enhancement.
