1756  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Dragon- suggest to make Resonance Dragon on: 12 May 2009, 11:58:48
Hey guys,  Here is a pen and ink I did quite a long time ago.  I like it and was wondering if it would be of use in any entries.  Since this is a pen and ink it will most generally need to be "as is".  Let me know if it could be of use.

Here are the changes to reflect Valans comments.  I made subtle changes to the cup.  More obvious changes to the pants, etc.  I also put an extremely subtle hint of steam.

also I added a solo shot of the goblet in case it is useful.
1758  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: Eratin's Windsinger (work in progress) on: 12 May 2009, 11:21:33
Yes this is a great picture as is.  Eratin is obviously a superior artist.  Whether or not he could make it even better is irrelevant to me.  I love it.
1759  Santharian World Development / The Santharian Bestiary / Re: The Magic Slimer Creature ("Oozer") on: 11 May 2009, 23:54:27
Well of course this is well described.  I feel rather silly patting you on the back too much considering this is a rather simple creature and you have probably done this hundreds of times.  But well done anyway, thumbup for what its worth.

I have a few questions about this creature which if answered will help me visualise better its impact on life around it.

You state that is a short lived creature.  Perhaps you could indicate the longest time a slimer has ever lived to give us a range.  Could they live for 2 weeks, 2 months, etc?

Do you imagine they could impact events in a dramatic way.  For example if one was accidentally created during a battle.  Would it matter?  Or would it just ooze along unsuccessfuly trying to assimilate dead bodies.

Are there any famous slimers?

Do you imagine that students of magic are accidentally creating slimers all the time?  What would the Universities do with them?  Lock them up and starve them? cry

Welcome Foraste to the fun side of Santharia.  Development!    rolling

Sounds like you are ready to jump right in.  I am looking forward to your first entry.  One piece of advice, make sure you read all the newbie information.

Good luck over here and have fun.

Oh by the way.    Are you human, elf,  er or dwarf?  I am assuming not an orc, I would have smelled you coming.  Nevertheless, if you come across any magic spells that can basically help me become the most powerful being around... just let me know.

Yes Alysse ... Blood.... salty sticky blood.

You are right. He normally wouldn't use a cup, but every once in a while he likes to sit back and drink it down civilized.

Unless of course you would like me to draw a corpse laying across his lap.  evil

1764  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: Drakus pic on: 07 May 2009, 08:20:00
Now Alysse , you don't really think it is wine in that goblet do you?

In fact there is a symbolic reason why the goblet is designed the way it is.  It represents Drakus's favorite source of "wine".
1765  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: In Progress: Knight overlooking City on: 07 May 2009, 04:30:03
Just something you doodled?  Are you making fun of those of us who have to actual work to get a picture this far along?  sigh

The face is really good.  And his proporations are excellent.  I will be curious to find out who he is and what tha town is behind him.  The town has good character as well.

Well as you said this is a work in progress.  As already mentioned, the thing that stands out the most is that the knight is sharper than the background.  It looks as if he is standing in front of a painting.

Great job so far, I am eager to learn from how you progress your pictures..

Welcome Katherine,

This sounds like the place for you.  Not only will you find an excellent creative outlet, but you will find friendly helpful "people"  here.  Well.... not everyone around here is a person.  For example watch out for the big, green, handsomely challenged, er um thing lurking around here.  Don't eat his cookies I swear they are filled with some sort of Orcen magic.

And you are going to have to tell us a little bit more about yourself.  What are hopes dreams ... and fears.  *Seeker has a slightly evil grin*
And if you come across any useful evil spells or magic, please let me know.  Especially if you find any magic to rid me of these cursed tattoos.  ;)

Have fun

As usual the community is right.  I haven't addressed all of Valan's comments yet (still trying to figure out what to do veryconfused)  But I hit on most of the others ....  And I am learning.   So this is good.

Keep the comments coming.  I'll let you know when I give in.
1768  Santharian World Development / The Santharian Bestiary / Re: Cuttlefish: The Aquatic Master of Disguise on: 06 May 2009, 07:41:46
I have seen cuttlefish in a couple of different aquariums.  One in Hawaii and one in the Washington DC National Zoo.  They are really neat to see change colors. Very smooth and subtle transitions.

The point of sketching your creatures is a test to see if you gave it enough description.  So sketch what you wrote, not what you " think".  If that makes any sense.  You don't need to provide it to us, just use it as a test to see if you are providing the rest of us with the vision of what you want this creature to look like.
1769  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: Drakus pic on: 06 May 2009, 05:55:46
So far all these changes can easily be done.
1770  Santharian World Development / The Santharian Bestiary / Re: Cuttlefish: The Aquatic Master of Disguise on: 06 May 2009, 05:54:17
First off,  i think cuttlefish in terran world is awesome, so I like this idea alot. Since I know what a cuttlefish in "real" life looks like I have a pretty good idea of what yours looks like here as well.  Keep in mind if you change the name we will not have a very good idea of what this creature looks like, because we will not be able to compare it to our worldy creature.  More detail will need to be added.  Think like an atist and try sketching what you have described.  See what you come up with.
