See if that comes a little closer.  Alt, will you specifically comment on the blue that I used.  I want to make sure it looks right to you.  If something still doesn't look right, feel free to re-comment.

Also let me know what you think of the stonework.  Again specifically the colors used.  I can alter the tone on that red granite pretty easily now.

1787  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: Kor’och fey Mologh pic on: 28 April 2009, 00:54:56
No problem Guys I can take care of these changes.  The only thing is I do not plan on changing the stonework layout.  I will change the colors and add some shadows as suggested but it may not look exactly "checkerboard".  I will think about the head covering, A helm to match his armor may work, but I want to be careful about taking too much away from the face itself.

I just want to point out to our green friend that just a couple weeks ago I produced a fine looking female for him to oogle at.  Soon enough I will be able to finish the Warg Rider as well.  I am sure I will return to that world soon.

Nope I have never drawn for Tattoos before.  Don't know much about it in "real life".
1788  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Kor’och fey Mologh pic on: 26 April 2009, 12:28:08
Here is a picture for our dear friend Altario.

A Kor’och fey Mologh (horse) mounted by a Remusian Cavalry officer patrolling the outer wall. In the background is my depiction of the bridge leading to the Western gate to Remusiat. I have copied some quotes that were instrumental in describing this picture.

"Cavalry. The Cavalry is the Remusian's only real offensive force. The cavalry uses the same barbed and banner clad spears as well as broadswords and large shields." " The main cavalry wear studded leather"

"Coat of Arms/Sign. The Remusian coat of arms consists of the skyline of the capitol of Remusiat. Above this skyline is an image of so-called Forsaken Blade - the tribe's symbol of power (in vertical position). The background can be red or black, depending on in which context the coat of arms is being displayed: When on a flag is usually red, so that the image of the Forsaken Blade does not blend in with a black background. If it is on a shield, standard, or tapestry (which are meant to be viewed at close distance), then the background is black, with a white outline between it and the sword."

" Defenses and Fortifications: Most walls in Remusian territory are simply wooden palisades (even the well sized town of Dorm-nak is protected by palisades). However, the more modern fortifications surrounding the capitol of Remusiat, are actually great works of engineering. The inner defensive line consists of the double inner walls. Both are made of stone and are 10 peds thick. The outer one leans outward at a 45 degree angle. The outer defensive line consists of trenches, earthworks, towers with ballista emplacements and a five ped thick stone wall. The only area not protected by both walls is the western gate, as it was damaged in an attack during the Fifth Orcish War. The orcish siege engineers damaged the ground surrounding the gate so greatly that it fell away into the bay. A bridge was built soon after so the gate could remain functional. The bridge and gate are still protected by the outer wall of the inner line, and all defenses of the outer line."

No way Nsiki, this is Judith's piece, and I must say again I am impressed.

Anyhow, She does some mighty fine creatures herself, I hope she has enough "mood" to conjure up a ghastly being to live in this place.

OK I am guessing that took me longer than for Judith.  I need to work on my skills.  Here is a pic of Turik alone and wandering.

Hey Ulver welcome,  don't get too frustrated just yet.

Just a couple of survival tips.  If you don't know the following you will find yourself frustrated very quickly.

1) Make sure the long term Santharians agree with your ideas, before you spend too much time.  Otherwise you could spend alot of time creating an entry that is doomed to rejection from the start.  It looks like Alysse has given you a path forward.

2) Even when presenting ideas make sure your spelling and grammar are correct. These mistakes make us doubt a final piece is even possible.  I understand not everyone is proficient in English.

3)  Look at some of the other entries and see how they have incorporated other area into their entries.  Your creations have to "fit in" or else Santharia becomes too confusing.

Working on something smaller is a good suggestion, you can always come back to bigger and complicated.

Judith,  Have you ever seen a picture done by someone else and wish you were the one that drew it.  That's how i feel.  I like this pic alot.  The water looks great and the feeling of depth is done well.  I could see you putting a Santharian swamp creature in here somewhere to really bring it to life.
1793  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: UPDATED Pic of Krrroa'haxpattl Monster (as seen by Turik of Barsalon) on: 21 April 2009, 10:54:14
Here you go.  I am mentally drained on this pic.  I hope the changes suffice.

I provided a closeup of Turik and the background.  I realize Turik is not very detailed close up, so I don't really expect you to use it for anything.
1794  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: Wisp Apparition Pic UPDATED on: 21 April 2009, 09:16:02
Alright Art, here you go.  See what you can do with these.  In the first pic I played around with blues, greens and yellows.  They seemed to work well together.  In the second pic I made them all a reddish hue.  I provided this in case you ever need some angry wisps for anything.  I would prefer the 1st pic is used in the Wisp apparition entry but I will leave that to you and Azhira.
1795  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: Wisp Apparition Pic UPDATED on: 21 April 2009, 05:28:11
I understand why Azhira wants the different colors.  She described the wisp to use different colors to reflect different moods, etc.  However I tried using the diferent colors , especially red and it made the composition look a little too colorful and took away from the eerie night feeling.  I can also add different versions with different colors so Art can use the Wisp of his choice (he may need an angry one every once in a while).

As far as the dark vs. light.  Art may want to post the slightly lighter version so more people out there in cyberspace can enjoy the picture.  Not everyone has nice monitors like us here Santharia.

I will play around a bit more.  And see what I can do.

Talia

That was actually very helpful.  I do not mind such comments when they come from the creator of the entry themself.  I would not like it if everyone sent me back my own pictures with specific changes like that, if they are not the creator.  However, I recognize everyone goes through similar critique with their written work.

I will make these changes and then will be done.  As far as the milky water.  I agree with your assessment but I am struggling with making it better.  so it may be left as is.

Emotion is such a hard thing to capture in artwork.  But it is the essence of what makes a piece interesting.  You do well with emotion in your art.

I hate to hear you had a bad day.  Sometimes a good cry can do a world of good.  Here's to a brand new day tomorrow.
1798  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: UPDATED Pic of Krrroa'haxpattl Monster (as seen by Turik of Barsalon) on: 20 April 2009, 12:34:36
Art, if it is all the same to you I will go with Talia on this one, if for no better reason than the fact she created this monster.  (I have taken away the fog from the foreground.)

Here is another try at positioning Turik.  Let me know what you think.  (We can also assume that Turik would have overexaggerated how close he came to the monster the more times he tells this story.)

I still need to mess around with the water, but it is getting late.
1799  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: Wisp Apparition Pic UPDATED on: 20 April 2009, 12:07:46
Fox, it was already suggested to make them more transparent.  So we will have to go with one or the other.  Maybe some more opinions on the subject will help to decide which way to go.  I am personally not attached to which way we go.
1800  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: Wisp Apparition Pic on: 20 April 2009, 10:12:59
I had a fun time learning new things with the lens flare, glows and such.  I tried to keep the changes subtle.  I am also adding two versions.  One a bit lighter than the first.  Curious which one looks better on your monitors.
