1801  Organization and General Discussions / Newbie Information, Joining Requests and Recruitment / Re: Hi on: 19 April 2009, 12:32:56
Welcome newcomer Deklitch.   evil  Always nice to have new blood around.

I have been here in Santharia for about two months now, and it is great.  Dive right in, find something that suits you and have fun.  There is lots to see and read.  Enjoy the work that so many have put into this world over the years.

If you run across any spell books or powerful rune magics let me know.  I am always looking to upgrade,  Don't worry you can trust me. ;)

Well you guys hit on something I struggled with during the initial creation.  I played around with putting Turik farther away but then the picture became more scenery and less Beast.  I want the focal point to be the monster.  Therefore Turik had to be closer than I liked.  You came up with some good ideas.  Take a look and see what you think.  I attempted to address the other comments as well.  The fog is tricky with snow.  They tend to blend.

Take a look and let me know what you think.
1803  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Wisp Apparition Pic UPDATED on: 18 April 2009, 07:49:05
Art, here you go.  Is this what you imagine the wisp to look like?  I can easily alter if you like.

Of course anyone is welcome to comment.
1804  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: The Forsaken Blade pic on: 17 April 2009, 07:17:19
Here is the Forsaken Blade with a leather handle.  In order to do this I had to simply soften the highlights which made the other handle appear plastic.  I refrained from adding the handle design of the second pic you provided Alt.  For me that handle appeared too rubbery. I wanted to avoid that feeling.  I hope you like this one.

Agreed.  I don't mind sifting through the beasts to suggest some reclassification.

And by the way, thanks for the critique so far on the Krrroa.  Keep it coming.
1806  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / UPDATED Pic of Krrroa'haxpattl Monster (as seen by Turik of Barsalon) on: 16 April 2009, 13:01:55
Thanks Talia for letting me draw your creature.  thumbup This has been a pleasure, so far.

This is a picture of Turik of Barsalon siting the Krrroa on the Iceland Coast.  I felt it was necessary to put him in the picture in order to get the perspective of how big this beast really is.   For those of you who would like to read the description it is in the Bestiary under Monsters, Water.

As always please provide me some suggestions for improvement.  Specifics are helpful.  Of course, positive reactions are nice as well, after all, we are here to have fun ;)  I hope.

In the meantime I am also looking for some more suggestions for future pics.  If you like my style and would like me to draw something you created then give me a suggestion.  I would prefer to draw something that is already completely described and posted.  Of course, if there are alot of requests, I will simply pick what interests me the most at the time.

Welcome from me as well.  The development side is alot of fun.  Have a good time here.  I hope you enjoy creating new and creative things.

Hey Alt I was wondering when you were going to get a chance to comment.  You were the one I was most concerned about liking the sword, since it effects the Remusians so much. I will update sometime in the next few weeks.  I am currently out of town and do not have access to my my art program.
1809  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: Picture of Gouran(Avath'cao) with Warg and Orcs on: 04 April 2009, 11:46:18
Made the updates that I think/hope Talia was referring to.    Art as I mentioned before it is up to you if you want to use any of this for the current update.    You may want to wait until the Warg portion is complete. Then again, I may also get some more suggestions for improvement.
1810  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: The Forsaken Blade pic on: 04 April 2009, 08:31:35
I made the last subtle changes.  I believe it is ready to go.  I provided the background as well in case it is useful.
1811  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: The Forsaken Blade pic on: 03 April 2009, 10:13:36
Here is the sword with an ice background (all original, no preset regular pattern).  While there is not much going on in the background I am purposely trying not to draw attention away from the sword.  I am using an ice background because this sword resides with the Northmen (Remusian Men).

I also tried to address Talia's comment about the sword reflection.

Hopefully this gets us closer.  Please comment.
1812  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: The Forsaken Blade pic on: 03 April 2009, 00:21:28
Background change will be easy enough.  Maybe i'll make the sword laying on ice or something. More suggestions welcome.
1813  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: Picture of Gouran(Avath'cao) with Warg and Orcs on: 02 April 2009, 12:23:27
Well I made the minor suggested changes to Gouran and the she-Orc.  As you can see I took out the Warg for now.  Garret is working on some details for the Rhom-Oc Warg.  I will finish that part of the picture once those are ready.  For now I'll take any more suggestions for the rest of the picture presented here.
1814  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / The Forsaken Blade pic on: 02 April 2009, 09:38:20
I realize I am not yet done with Gouran, but I just couldn't help myself.  The Forsaken Blade was calling me.

Please, comments welcome.  Here is the description of the blade.

"Description. The whole sword is jet black with the exception of a small red rune on the pommel. On the crosspiece there is a picture of a large figure fighting several human warriors. This is most likely a representation of the Dark Chosen Alteth, who is said to once have forged this sword. If this part was added by Alteth himself or someone else is unknown. The blade is long, thin and back curving like a scimitar and it always seems to emit a faint black light around itself."
1815  Santharian World Development / Santharian Artists Workshop and Resources / Re: Picture of Gouran(Avath'cao) with Warg and Orcs on: 01 April 2009, 01:02:45
Lets make this one a Rhom-Oc Warg.  Garret and Tharoc just let me know what I need to do in order to make it look like one.

As far as the Hell Hound goes.  I think a creature of its magnitute deserves to be the focal point of its own picture.  Making it secondary to to another(even Gouran) does not do it justice.  Once the HellHound has its own entry with all the details I will request to take on the task to draw the Hellhound properly.
