1  Santharian World Development / People of the World of Caelereth / Re: Capher-Shape-Shifting Dragon. on: 15 October 2010, 01:54:44
rolleyes Oh Altario, it would be a Remusian who would pronounce Capher as Ka-fur.

Kali, I have just started on my overview and already questions. And it is a good one at that. The rare I mean is two fold, rare as in number, or presumed number of shape shifting dragons left, and the most important rarity is that Capher is the grandson of the last of the three Adamant Dragons Ol ' Dem ' Brey slain by Katya the Dragon slayer, which through the bloodline gave him magical powers that even the strongest of wizards of Ximax could never achieve. Also by rare was that he was chosen by the Goddess Seyella to serve her, her purposes, and the Wizard of the White Tower. I was going to explain all of that in Capher's history, do I need to clarify that in the overview? If I do I can do that just give me some time.

Art, I hope I spelled Avesthoria correct.

LOL Cruci, no those are not the names the other main races of Caelereth know Capher by. I was just getting to that as I continue working on my overview.

Thank you Cruciform, that was my problem. I had only bookmarked this page and not the main page. Sorry Art, I leaped before looking.

Overview:

Capher, pronounced (Saw-Far) is the rarest of all dragons that lived or ever lived on Caelereth. He was named in Tharian by the original Wizard of the White Tower, (if you wish to know about the White Tower and the Wizard please refer to the writings of the Avesthoria) as his Draconian name did not fit Capher's role the wizard had for him nor the Goddess Seyella. Capher is known by many names throughout the lands of Caelereth depending upon which tribe or race you speak to.

I give up, I have looked all over the place and cannot find the Compendium. How can anyone do any research if they can't find anything? There used to be symbols if I recall, but that was then and this is now, so please tell me how to find the Compendium? I would be most grateful.

Happy birthday to you to my dear friend. I know that your work keeps you busy but I hope you have the time to enjoy this day. Like most holidays that only come once a year, so do our birthdays and if God willing, may have you have many many more!

Hi Kali, I hope everything is going well with you and yours. It would seem that you are the Dragon mistress around here, I did not know, but I welcome any suggestions as does the Dame Bard Judith as well, mostly her. ;)
7  Santharian World Development / Languages and Runes / Re: Draconian Language or Tongue. on: 12 October 2010, 08:57:14
So Judith perhaps when Capher's entry, especially when his history is finished, that could give you some ideas of how to "realistically" weave and stitch along with texture the tapestry of the Draconian Language.

I need to do the research on these draconian cults and see if somehow Capher could have influenced these cults in someway. Or another dragon? Or perhaps they found symbols on rune stones that were used during the War of the Chosen, or even earlier than that!!

*Ohhhh my head hurts for thinking so much.*  rolleyes
8  Santharian World Development / Languages and Runes / Re: Draconian Language or Tongue. on: 11 October 2010, 14:48:46
Yep, I do believe that Bard Judith started that rumor, however I believe I have been trying to get the point across not only on the RP side but on this side too, that the Draconian language is tied into the Carrr'ol or Xuea (I know my spelling is terrible) however, in my mind or idea not all dragons can do magic, only the Adamant's and their offspring can, Capher's, once I get around to his entry which should be soon, is in actuality Ol' Dem' Brey's grandson (speaking in human terms) He is probably the only dragon left who has such powerful magic running through his blood.

Judith we had at first talked about making like some sort of sign language for the language, if I recall, however I believe we both came to the conclusion that we both did not like it. When the muse does hit me I bandied around with perhaps more a Russian style of speaking, using mostly constanants and only one or two vowels, that way it would sound more gutteral. On another occasion, I thought that perhaps the language could be based upon the old Jewish language, Aramaic, this time using more vowels than consanants.

Anyway those are just some ideas that had popped into my head over the years.  I am not good at languages; I can come up with ideas, but how to implement them into some sort of a viable new language is way over my head i am afraid.
9  Santharian World Development / Languages and Runes / Draconian Language or Tongue. on: 09 October 2010, 03:41:53
If I recall, I believe that our beloved Bard Judith was going to work on a Draconian language or tongue. I have searched all over and do not see it, therefore my conclusion is that she did not do it either because she lost interest in it, which I do not blame her for her partner, me, was supposed to help but I was not much help and disappeared for awhile during that time. *feels ashamed* Sorry Judith.

Anyway, I guess I am asking you dear Judith, if you are not too busy, if you would like to get together and we can toss a few ideas and some R'unorian Brandy around and down to come up with a Draconian tongue. However if you choose not to, I understand and I will go from there.

Thank you all so very much for your well wishes, and to Arti's imaginative idea of the rocks, which helped an old dragon like myself see the message as my eyesight is a bit dim after all these years.

Unlike women, who should never tell their age unless it is appropriate to do so, I am 53 as of October 7, 2010 and I plan, God willing, to be around much longer; even if it is to give fits to those who I role play with on the other side, or ulcers to the development team with questions and entries that need so much work; one if I am not mistaken, about my own character which is giving me nightmares as I cannot even write an overview him without tossing it in the delete bin.

Happy Birthday Cruci. Is not this the greatest month and day to be born? (at least in my humble opinion)  ;)

See you all on the boards and thank you all once again for the warm and welcome wishes sent to me for my birthday.

Capher/Damien Scar/Alanl Bladorn, and oh I forgot one, Ghun.  evil

I thought Dalia, was the favorite house dragon, Art. ;) You had better be careful my friend, she may come and roast you alive and then eat you! ;)
2006, Wow has it been that long? How time flies when you become older. I can still remember when I first stumbled upon this fledgling site. Oh the fun we had trying to create templates for our entries that would satisfy you. In those days there was no other continent called Arullien or however you spell it. There were just a few incomplete entries of races, and places. But now look at how far this site has come! It is organized, templates have been created and finalized for everything from A-Z.

Many old entries, even those I had made have either been removed or rewritten to the point that I would not even recognize my own or others back then's work, and in case someone is thinking I am complaining, I assure you I am not. I am praising all of you on this side for all of the hard work you have put into this magical world. I am procrastinating, instead of writing a people entry I am just replying to posts. I should get to work!
12  Santharian World Development / People of the World of Caelereth / Re: Where would "Capher" be put in? on: 07 September 2010, 23:35:11
Seeker, it could be just that I have not been very active on this side of the board.
13  Santharian World Development / People of the World of Caelereth / Re: Where would "Capher" be put in? on: 07 September 2010, 12:35:59
OK, thank you for the answer and I hope that my entry meets all of your's expectations; especially mine, as I am my own worst critic. I shall begin. It is the research that takes up the time Azhira and I am sure you would write an exquisite draconian person entry. Just who would that be?
14  Santharian World Development / People of the World of Caelereth / Re: Where would "Capher" be put in? on: 02 September 2010, 02:06:05
I have a question; what does it mean when it says in the "How to do people entries"  "and why there is a Compendium entry for this person."

when you write the "overview" of that person?
15  Santharian World Development / People of the World of Caelereth / Re: Where would "Capher" be put in? on: 14 August 2010, 13:55:17
Judith, you made me laugh and feel warm and welcome at the same time.

Art, yes it has been a while since I was last over here. My last entry was the bird "Wyndrider" Thank you for the information and I will try and do my best to make sure I am consistent with the history and places that are recent.

I am sure that as I write the entry that I will get plenty of "Editing and encouragement" advice from the mods that are in charge.

Thank you all for your support, kindness, and humor.
