Oooh, look, we DID!    Here's the link for your convenience:

http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,11643.0.html

And here's YOUR list of body parts:  http://www.santharia.com/dev/index.php/topic,12246.0.html

Anyhow, changing from Latinate to more Santharian names would certainly help.   Also have a look at the Family Book of Medicine link that I posted to you the other day...some great phrases and methodology we could borrow for a more archaic feel  (placing hot iron bars on the spine, blistering, bleeding, and cupping, for pity's sake!)

You and I should sit down and have a look at Santharian names for anatomy.  Somewhere around we have the equivalent of Vitruvian Man, for Santharia, with the muscles named....and I think I gave some other useful anatomy as well.  Using 'breastbone' instead of 'sternum' or 'thighbone' rather than 'femur' is a good start.  Lemme see about that picture....

Actually called the Family physician....  Kel, you'll love this treatise.  Archaic words, ailments, prescriptions, and more lovely period details.  Not medieval but certainly flavorful....   Enjoy!

Oops, shouldn't post late at night.  I see Mina beat me to the punch!    Anyhow, my opinion still stands... :P
35  Santharian World Development / Miscellaneous / Re: Kelancey's AoA--Afflictions of the Sanguine, Tumors on: 22 June 2012, 21:17:58
'Tumor' is fine with me.  It goes back to the 1540s in English, so while it may sound modern, there really shouldn't be a problem with it.

I also love anything Latinate that we can tweak, twitch, pervert, distort, or blame on Gnomic (the name of the Gnomish language :) )
While 'Svulnaf' isn't Latin, it has a great sound to it, with a built-in 'Tharian' mnemonic.  I'd love to see those suggestions incorporated.

Hey, dear Sage!

I have just finished finals week and am officially on vacation. Now, normally my summer vacation means I'm away from my home computer AND my tablet...but not this year.  I'm taking it with me, and if all goes well and I can install PS on my mother's computer, I shall be able to draw pictures over the next two months!  So...nothing this update from me, but expect some renewed activity (AND the game of Quennyss finished up!) in the next few weeks.

Backing you up on Urtengor there, Kelancy.  Dwarves themselves cannot have necropsies performed as the body slowly turns to stone - hence the science of anatomy must not be as advanced (I'm not even going to go near vivisection!) among the Thergerim.   I would suspect that attitude about the flesh would carry over even to human priests of Urtengor/TrumBaroll.

Bravo Seeker.   I was just about to suggest something similar.  Dirt, leaves, sticks, etc.... perhaps they have several stomachs, like cows, plus a gizzard with stones for grinding, liike birds.  Now that would be a cool anatomical dissection to sketch....

39  Santharian World Development / Miscellaneous / Re: Kelancey's Discourse on Disease--Introduction on: 11 June 2012, 11:29:40
Almanac of Afflictions definitely gets my vote!   Though I must say I rather like Index of Infirmities as a very close runner-up.  Auries for the both of ye!
40  Santharian World Development / Miscellaneous / Re: Kelancey's Discourse on Disease--Introduction on: 07 June 2012, 15:22:51
LOVE those words of wisdom.  Bravo!  Aesclepius and Hippocrates would be proud.

Although I appreciate alliteration and use it universallly, might I mention that 'Discourse on Disease' is inaccurate if you intend to incorporate all ailments?  :P

Wounds, for example, cannot be classified under 'diseases' but are 'injuries'.  Just a nitpick there!
41  Organization and General Discussions / Active Projects / Re: Santhworld - Treasure Shoals (5/8 done) on: 07 June 2012, 15:19:31
Yeah!  I actually have some free time just before exam week (June 18 - 22) but then I leave for Canada on the 26 and will be without my tablet for the summer...
42  Santharian World Development / Miscellaneous / Re: Kelancey's DoD--Afflictions of the Sanguine on: 07 June 2012, 15:18:37
Oooh, thank you both.  Auras all around.  (Let's see if we can get Seeker up to that magical 400!)
43  Santharian World Development / Miscellaneous / Re: Kelancey's DoD--Afflictions of the Sanguine on: 06 June 2012, 09:29:29
Ah yes.  Here it is.  And it really should be finished up one of these days.   Perhaps this summer vacation would be a good time to get this and the Quenyss entry DONE.  (makes mental note and sticks it on the inside of her forehead)

Did you add in the Myrmex stitches and I just overlooked them?  :)    Also, it might be nice to cross-reference the Letter To My Daughter in the 'courses/menstruation' section.  There are a great many remedies and earthy bits of advice in the letter.  Let's see if I can track it down....

Begging and pleading work well on me.  So does a hefty plate of kaokao cookies, or possibly Timbers with gravy and a good Manthrian cheese....

I should love to help with some little bits of myth and lore, though don't count on me for any dates or numbers.   And see your other thread for some alternative nomenclature....
