31  Santharian World Development / Miscellaneous / Re: New weapon: Whirlwind. on: 29 July 2002, 13:11:00
Well, as for the " some might not be able to afford them" (I should have mentioned this earlier) All Eilenachians are the equivelent of nobles. There are only about 10,000 "pure" Eilenachians, all 500,000 "mixed breed" and humans living on Eilenachian territory are slaves. They arn't quite "dark elves" but they are cruel. All they do is eat, sleep, relax and fight. Everything else is done by slaves. The end of the blade seperates into two sections, both ending in hooks. Sorry if thats hard to picture, but i can't think of a better way to say it. <I wish I had a scanner> The Remusian used to trade with the Eilenachians, but when the Eilenachians lost control of the continent, they dissolved the trade routes and focused on harrasing the rebels.

32  Santharian World Development / Miscellaneous / New weapon: Whirlwind. on: 22 July 2002, 14:27:00
Description: The Whirlwind is one of the most expensive of all weapons. All are hand made and can cost a fortune in gold, they are only available in the Eilenachian capitol of Linhir on the continent of Yamalqauin. Whirlwinds generally have the appearance of a huge (up to 2.5 peds long) thin, back curving, two-handed greatsword. Also, on the end the blade separates into two hooks. ( to help vissualise this, if you were looking at the side or flat of the weapon, then you would see them. If looking from the edge, you would not.)

Usage: The Whirlwind is mainly used by the "Corsairs" or marines, of the Elven Eilenachian tribe. The weapon holds great symbolic meaning to them. For a corsair to lose his whirlwind is to lose his honor. The Remusian tribe's "grey order" has been known to use them as well. They obtained them by an ancient trade the two cultures had, but when the Eilenachian Empire fell, and the Eilenachians retreated back to their main island, the trade routes to Sarvonia were dissolved.

Fighting style: All whirlwinds are enchanted with one power:  to make them lighter, so light in fact that they can be lifted and wielded with almost no effort whatsoever. The main strategy of a corsair is to board an enemy ship ( as their vessels are small and carry no real offensive capability of their own) and engage the enemy in hand to hand combat. The hooks can be useful for cutting ropes and sails on board ships, and when on land for pulling riders off their horses.

Origin/History: The whirlwinds were first conceived of by the Eilenachian Emperor Calmorak the XXVII in about 270 b.s. He requested a new weapon to be made for his soldiers and gave a description, they were issued to all branches of the military, but proved most effective in the navy. Since then,  the whirlwind has become common in Linhir, but a rare find outside of Eilenach, the only group other than the corsairs known to use them is the "Grey Order" of the Remusian Tribe.

33  Santharian World Development / Miscellaneous / UPDATE on: 27 July 2002, 23:12:00
I have removed the "Soul-Stealing" legend, and added the truth behind it. As the Remusian tribe entry will be completed shortly, I have decided to continue some of my old projects.

37  Santharian World Development / Miscellaneous / The Forsaken Blade on: 30 May 2002, 07:01:00
Description: First of all the whole sword is jet black with the exception of a small red rune on the pommel. On the crosspiece there is a picture of a large figure (most likely a representation of Alteth himself) fighting several human warriors. The blade is long, thin and back curving like a scimitar ... and it always seems to emit a faint black light around itself.

Usage: In battle the sword is blood thirsty and alive , it actively seeks out enemies and cuts through leather armor or chain mail with no effort (although plate can be a slight problem)

Fighting Style: The weapon is rumored to take the souls of those it kills, this is not true. Mirhan "the just" a white chosen of considerable power, had put such an enchantment on the sword before he battled Alteth, however, magic that powerfull could only be temporary. It faded withen about three days of the conflict. The sword's power comes from the Soul of Alteth. Lord Araman of Remusiat ( the father of the current lord ) has commented that "It is simply a sword, nothing more." although after reading of it's use by his son Timeras  at The Battle of the Lake, I would dissagree.

Origin/History: Although it's creation is still a mystery it was most likely forged by the Dark Chosen Alteth, At the Battle of Winds, Lord Alteth was killed by a white chosen named Mirhan, and Alteth was killed by this very sword, Damning him to be trapped within the blade forever. Many servants of Darkness search for the blade, for through it they may summon Alteth. After the battle the sword fell to Lord  Surod of Remusiat. Since then it has been an heirloom to all the lords of Remusiat and become the Remusian tribe's symbol of power. Lord Timeras of Remusiat, 502nd in direct line from Surod, wields it today.

Did anyone have any plans for these? Becuase I just had an interesting idea concerning the area.

Also I am generally trying to push myself out of the discussion forums and back into development... and this might be a nice way to do it. :)

So, I'll be back on tomorrow afternoon and I hope for some comments. :)

I appologize for Talos. He was making a reference to the Eilenachian capitol of Linhir, to be on Yamalquain, I told him not to say anything, but he has to do the oppisite of everything I say... Sorry. It probobly will be larger, but as they are so far apart, and have no knowledge of eachother, you won't need to change the entry. I only decided to make it larger becuase of the Imperial nature of the Eilenachians. If you have any major problems with that just let me know.

Once again I appologize for my unintelligent friend.

Heres the Icelands coast map...

image1ex.villagephotos.com/extern/865102.jpg

Green: The Remusian Lord's highways.

Red: The Ancient Tokarian Imperial Roads

Blue: Odarian tribal paths and Hunting trails.

Brown: Tokarian colony roads.

The Northern black square where the Remusian roads converge is Remusiat. The southern square is Dorm-Nak.

I know you probobly don't need this yet as the Icelands coast is pretty far removed, but I needed somthing to do. :lol
