Maybe we should make an "easteregg" page or something, like "Did you know?"... lol - There are surely a lot of things integrated here and there which is only known to a few to which author or real life reference they point...

That WOULD be fun!

I'm pretty sure most of us have at least one or two of those "in-jokes" squirreled (or should I say kuatued? grin) away somewhere...

Though it would be fun, I'd make it as easteregg-ish as possible, meaning that it should be hard to reach, and not easily accesible, otherwise that would surely spoil the fun. Maybe for example a link which is clickable in the top menu picture (the dragon, the rider, the bridge?). You may even delete this post to make sure no one knows it's there... or better, make something similar up which I won't know about ;)

Beat you to it, Alysse - though I should record it in the Proverbs and Sayings Forum!

When someone tucks something away carefully, she has 'kuatu-cached' it!   See Bard Judith's biography...  :)

And yeah, yeah, some easter eggs!  I have some ideas for Art...

Yeah, there surely is fun potential! I guess easter eggs wouldn't necessarily have to revealed directly at such an easter egg page, but one could write: "Have you ever tried to spell a swampdwelling "mullog" backwards to discover a well hidden secret of their race"? - Or at time there also tiny references in pictures, like e.g. in Quellion's Shadow Elf picture, where the Bone Queen is seen as a tiny little "blurry blotch" (as someone said). We could add the picture at the easter egg page and put a magnifying glass over it - you click on it and you get to see what the blotch really is, and so on.

Guess that could turn out quite funny, but we'd need to collect a good deal of such things first to make a full page.

A myrmex-investigating sage also has a quite familiar name as I noticed, Judy :)

There's Fluffy's Ihanobe'todo Game for example. Some things are quite obvious, but still it would be fun to gather them all.

If someone discovers something, please post here, and we'll collect them eventually on a single page. Suggest to mark a new thing with the colour yellow so that it stands out from the rest of the post and can be easily collected!

Ok, I've split the topic now - use this topic in order to post further easter eggs!

BTW: If you post easter eggs you might also formulate them already in a way to give a clue what is meant with it without revealing too much, so that we could use that directly on the site.

Another interesting thing:

The names of the most Santharian provinces and their Capitals have something in common...

You wanted to do a kind of riddle some time ago, but we never got enough together to do it.  The  questions I sent you back then could work as well.

Yeah, this damn script that I liked and wanted to integrate to do Santharian quizzes was withdrawn by the guy who programmed it (even though I already paid for it, he returned the money). Obviously it was very unsecure and he had to stop distributing it. Haven't found another replacment yet.

Anyway, I'll dig these questions up, there might be something in it that fits here as well, yup :)

I believe my exact wordings were 'flaky white thing' or something along those lines :P

Some more references I'd like to note here, just to collect them for future use:

- The volcano Hèckra pointing to the genesis of the Santharian Dream
- The Twinnean Peaks pointing to "damn fine coffee" and cherry pie of course.
- The reference behind the Elvenfall pointing to Austrian lore inlcuding some unfortunate Turks.

Hmmm... Didn't quite get that, Judy nerd

One more thing for quick notice as you speak of education: The supposed Ciosan thief Knupp the Sneaker has a very suspicious educator with a very suspicious name, Master Retthgar...

That's because the computer crashed just as I posted -
before I could edit the entry to put in the appropriate url to the Santharian Primer.... :) and I was too tired to turn it back on and boot up and all the rest....

Thanks for the reminder!

Umm, okay I know I have not been to the Dev Board in quite a long while (hence the extremely and shameful low postings) but what are Easter Eggs in Santharia.  I know what they are in RL, but what are they here?

I posted the above before finding this page.  Sorry.  But I still have questions.  I gather that this is something like an Easter Egg hunt but using the Santharia site.  Is the game up and running yet?  Will there be a page to begin at?  Where do we start?  When do we start?  Easter is almost here!!

Oh and Art, you remember when I was talking about posting pics about our family and selves, etc. and you mentioned to click in the additional options.  Well I just did it here and I get an option for attachment.  On the RPG board, you don't.  You just get the three to check.  Is it suppose to be like that?

"Easter eggs" as we use it here , Cherri, doesn't refer to Easter as such or a game to hunt, but it refers more to the hiding of things in general, so that others can discover it (inside jokes, references to real life, to games, movies, books etc.) This is a somewhat established expression, and if you're looking for hidden features e.g. in DVDs or software you own, take a look here, there you also find an exact definition of the term :) - So whenever we write entries and make such inside jokes, these should be accumulated at an Easter Eggs page, so that you get to know why a beast was called that way, sometimes there might be funny stories behind it and you don't even know it... Look on some post on this page, there you can see some of the references we're talking about. Once we have enough, we can make a nice page out of it to look through.

I don't know about the RPG board - could be that the Admins disabled this feature for regular members (as an Admin I can post things that way). Maybe the Admins thought that attaching pics isn't necessary in stories?
