I'm loving this thread. I get a laugh out of every easter egg I check out.

Might i be so brave to report an Egg found in the Spyder? Have a good look at the reference given all the way at the bottom, which reads;

From Twen's Fujin (Riding Cat) entry, found by Judy:

Quote
I can't resist this one - sorry, my dear Twen, but it's too good to pass up!  Art, can you add this little booboo to the Funny Errors section?

"With the physical description provided for the Fujin, it would appear emancipated, not the powerful beast described. "

I believe she meant 'emaciated', as I doubt that anyone has either enslaved the great cat or tried to withhold its voting privileges....

Kyrattin Cattle

The poem by Mhairi Ohstene was based on one by Mary Austin in our real world.

The 'horn measuring contests' is a reference back to a limo measuring contest worded similarly from 'The Nanny'.

Sengren Axe ...

See if you can find what was believed in Medieval times about axes ... (the Wikipedia entry on axes might be of help here).

Arvins Arrows
- There are two 60's bands and a hit that both bands had referenced
- Check out the history of darts in our world for a dead end in its real world development ... and refer back to Arvins Arrows
- While you're at it, see if you can find a Dart Historian ... he got his PhD in Dart History (no joke)
- A certain member recently wrote a story which was partially referred to in this entry

Forgot to mention these when I finished Thalambath:

- The street of Khaled Way is named after Khaled Mardam-Bey, the designer of the mIRC client that a lot of us use over at the RPG board.
- Eltar Square is named after Eltabbar, the capital city of Thay in DnD's Forgotten Realms setting, which was one of my main inspirations for writing Thalambath. (also, Thay and Thalam look very similar, but this is mostly coincidence!)

I just noticed something in Alt's Remusian Men entry that might be an obscure easter egg ...

'One only has to learn that they have no less than 34 different words for "snow" ...'

The Ferengi from Star Trek lived on a planet that experienced almost constant rain ... from Memory Alpha ...

"Because of the extremely rainy climate of their homeworld the Ferengi have 178 different words for rain in all its various forms."

Probably just a coincidence, but I thought it was worth while pointing out anyway :D

The 34 words for snow is probably a reference to the old urban legend about the inuit having X00 words for snow (where X is a number between 3 and 5)

Goof as reported by Judy:

Azhira is quite wonderful, I agree, but I'm not sure she gets continent status just yet....

From Dek's comment above:  "My time is kind of split between three continents, now, Azhira, North and South Santharia and Nybelmar"[/color]

Connoisseurs of quantum physics will notice a similarity between the phenomenon known as quantum entanglement and the baffling qualities of the Never-Sit-Still mushroom. In both cases, two entities are able to communicate with one another at a distance and with immediate effect, although we don’t know any causal mechanism that would explain this. In the case of the Never-Sit-Still, the two entities are mushrooms picked by a special method; in the case of quantum entanglement, they are subatomic particles.

Apparently, Albert Einstein remained unconvinced by the experimental evidence for quantum entanglement, and called the phenomenon a “spooky distance effect” – or in German: “spukhafte Fernwirkung”. One of the gnomish names for the Never-Sit-Still honours Einstein’s memorable formulation: Zpukhavt Vernwirkung, derived from the Gnomish zpukin (“eerie”), havtim (“to wriggle”), and vernwirkung (“mushroom”). Poor Einstein!

Ah, too bad that internet is so restricted in China, Ferra. Can't be much fun surfing the web that way if Big Brother's watching you... Hope you enjoy your stay nevertheless!

Hi, dear Arti and other developers!

This year I am in China and cannot use any Google services including YouTube. For this reason I stopped uploading new Nepris videos. I can also not read any comments there.

It just crossed my mind that this information might be useful to you.

Cheers
