After I've already announced it in the Members Moot Forum here's the official statement for the rest of the Dreamers: We have a new artist whose picture are ready for taking in order to integrate them into Santharia.

Edyta hails from Poland and will be referenced by her Deviant Art name "Sheil" here in Santharia. Her Deviant gallery can be found here. As you can see she specializes in drawing dragons and has a faible for dinosaurs as well, but also draws other beasts and portraits. Sheil told me that she'll also go through the website and see if she can find something she'd like to draw :)

If you know where a picture would fit, please let me know, so that we can start with integrating in the coming updates. Pictures that have no direct use yet will move to the picture resources.

Pasting what I've already posted in the Members' Moot:

 grin grin grin grin

Does anyone else see what I'm seeing? Two pictures that almost exactly illustrate/match one of my entries? I'm not going to ruin the surprise - it shouldn't be too difficult

I have no idea what you are talking about Coren.. but i'd like to reserve Spikey Dragon for a submerged type of lesser dragon.. the glowing tips fit with my 'Underwater stars' idea, and they wouldn't do bad around the Essalui Thareliath either..

Looking at her first page this is what I scrounged up.

Shiel Pics:
Frozen> Frost Dragon, Sunset Dragon, Horned Drake, (following have no entries, but I will whip one up quickly if chosen) Spiked Drake, Giant Dragon
Deadly Creatures> Left Creature: Warg?  Could make an interesting myth about the right one and its association with wargs.
Wintery> None, but I really like this picture.
Solaris> The woman with the wings could defiantly be used for Niski’s “angel” project and the bird in her hand resembles the Al’Syrr
Green Fairy> The small faery creatures reserved by Mira and referenced by Grun that live outside of Tethrhim Ria.
Aliele + Dragon> Shape shifting Dragon.

I'm guessing you want Tototal, Coren!  Lovely woman in jungle with bright creatures around her.... what's not to like?

1.  OK - I have my eye on "Rahonavis Ostromi".  Dino-bird it may be, but it's too irresistable for a fantasy universe.

I wonder if Viresse would mind just a tiny bit of verbal editing to her Garthook entry?  The Garthook was originally envisioned as the Santharian turkey, so it's not a very dramatic bird.     A lot of things about it would fit quite well, and only a bit of the appearance would need to be changed.   (The fact that although it's a ground bird it can take to the air but tires easily... the large size, strong beak, etc....)

And as I always prefer integration where possible, I think I'd prefer to illustrate an existing entry with a bit of editing rather than create yet another bird entry to match this wonderful illustration.  What do the rest of you think?

2.  The interesting 'Uhr', which shows a stylized dark-eyed, dark-haired woman, would make a great alternate Stela (to be added, obviously, not to replace the existing illustration!).  The entry specifically mentions that there are various depictions: "With the few information the artists had on her, many different beautiful pictures were made, but none of these show the true Stela. .."  and this illustration could be described as a 'fever-dream' (since the inset techniques used are quite modern) - the surreal aspects would fit well with some of Monsonious's musings!

3.  I'd love a crop of 'Soulfinder' - in colour - to illustrate the Corbie entry.  We have a small, stylized crop from a larger picture of Quellion's, currently.  If that could be moved further down, to go with the 'omens and forebodings' part of the entry, and the more detailed black birds from 'Soulfinder' placed near the front, we'd have a spectacular intro...

Can I reserve "wintery" and the green butterfly things that are in her "through the forest" picture?

Judith got one of them right! 'tototl' is a perfect illustration for the Lillivear methinks... The body shape and complexion fits perfectly. Fantastic atmosphere and she even has wings!!! (I should have mentioned in one of my entries that Lillivear priestesses are almost always depicted with either colourful bird or butterfly wings).

PS: tototl could also be added to the chatterbird (psita psita) entry btw

And 'Rajani' for the Aestera! The Krean entry - outdated as it is - states that the Aestera (traditionally) sleep during the day and only go out during the night > hence their exceedingly white complexion.

The elven ears again are just marvelous - Krean who can use (advanced) magic are always depicted as elves (more on this, see my unfinished Krean society entry).

Wow I'm so excited! And I get numerous more illustrations from those two pictures! (herbarium and bestiary entries to come then!)

@Judith: I can't find 'Rahonavis Ostromi' and 'Uhr' - are we on the same page?

EDIT: Oh there is a second page!

In that case can I be really greedy and request 'soulfinder' for the Krath Empire entry (the one on the site) if noone else needs it urgently? Once I finish the mythology section and write a caption for the picture it can go up.

EDIT 2: Sorry Judith, didn't see you also wanted to use it. Ignore my above request then please.

Oh God this must be my lucky day (aside from being locked in an underground bike storage room for 40 minutes)! That's 3 free pictures that just fit - I don't even have to revise anything. And if I am smart about it I might just have secured illustrations for the next 7 entries I could write!

Ok, guys, one step after the other... First of all we should try to integrate picture directly if possible. So if you have something that already fits to an existing entry, let me know and provide a text that should go with the entry. Once these things are up and we've set up a page to link to Sheil's work, we can decide upon the rest. (BTW, Mira: Still need to set up a membership page for you - with your computer troubles we still haven't accomplished that.)

Please note that some pictures currently don't fit directly into the site like "Wintery", which isn't fully coloured. There are various excellent drawings Sheil did, but they lack colouring - well, maybe she'll get to colouring some of them sooner or later ;)

Garthook: Guess this is the right time to contact Viresse again and see how she's faring, we haven't heard from our long-eared elf for quite a while - will take care of that!

*points above*  Those are all the bestiary ones I have...and unless otherwise noted, they can already be integrated right in.

The solaris and the + .Ephemeral. + could make great angel pics.... I think that projects gonna be my masterwork someday (after I finish updating Xarl's entries ;) )

A crop of "Soulfinder" can go directly to the Corbie entry - that doesn't preclude Coren having the full picture, either!

"Uhr" can also go directly to the Monsonious (sp?) entry if you approve of having various Stelas, Art.

I'll wait on the Garthook and see if Vir has any difficulty with a minor appearance edit, once you've contacted her!

Nsiki, I think we've had a long-standing discussion on 'angels' and I don't recall that it was decided to allow anyone to add them to the universe?  Correct me if I'm wrong, by all means, but I thought we had agreed that we did not want to simply replicate a Manichanean dichotomic view of the universe here.   "Nature spirits" or 'guiding ancestral spirits' were suggested as a parallel to the various demonic forces in Caelereth, but 'angels' as such were in disfavour.

@Coren: Can you provide a description for at least one of the pics you'd like to have added to the Krean entry? You can write full entries later on, but if you can summarize what a picture stands for in a few sentences, it can go up at the main entry this update already.

Ahhh!!!! This has got to be pre-witch queen Eluda...just after she started practicing the 'forbidden arts' but before she was chosen to be HP (which she rejected):

Files have been replaced again, but the question remains how long this will last. SMF support will have a look at the security problem.

It has been hacked. The third time in 3 days. I need to replace the changed files again (won't happen before evening) - and then see what the SMF support recommends as a strategy.

Arti, could you maybe take a look at the RPG board? I got a message from my anti-virus program and now I can't access the column on the right with the list of current threads and the shoutbox. Thankies :)
