I have read a thread saying that the Elven magic system is currently being developed. (Forgot where it was) So is anyone working on Elven Magic System?

It is on hold until the Ximaxian system is finalized. Ximaxian is based largely off of the elven system so there isn't any use in making elvish magic without having completed Ximax magic first.

Ximax magic is the primary magic system and it is preferred that people work on it moreso than anything else.

oh... So Ximaxian is mostly based on Elvish system but was written first because there are a lot more humans that cannot the Elvish way?

Mostly because Ximax is the institute of magic and thus the baseline by which every other system is judged. But as you notice, much of the principles in the Ximaxian system are based off of elven myths and so on.

IMO Ximaxian Magic is the most developed Magic system at this point...and despite how whenever I come here I see some kind 'We need to fix/revise/add/remove/revoke/edit this...' topic- We do have a lot of stuff for it...

That is why it is asked to work primarily on it...Not because Humans can't understand Elvish (also note Ximax is a mixture of all races)...

No! My point is there is no Background reason my Ximax is the focus-The reason is:

Just a note, though magic is not my concern anymore:

Elven magic was supposed to have nothing to do with Ximaxian magic at all. Ximaxian magic uses Styrásh terms (similar to Latin here on Earth), but that's about all there is in common. Ximax is a scientific approach, elven magic is not, and an elven mage wouldn't understand a Ximaxian and all that rubbish he/she is talking about.

That's at least how I always saw it.

Well, Ximaxian magic also uses some ideas present in the Carpa'dosia and so on in regards to the elements, Xeua/Ecua, etc.

But yes, elvish magic has little in common with Ximaxian magic, though the latter has some basis in the former which is what I was referring to.

My view is that they are based on the same concepts (maybe with some slight variation), but approach things differently, eg. Ximaxian being more scientific and Elven being less so, as you said.

I don't know what you mean with "concept". If "concept" means simply that magic works in Santharia (that there are super-natural or meta-physical ways to work with matter that commonly are said not to be possiblle to exist on Earth), then yes. If "concept" means that Ximaxians can somewhat explain what might be happening when a spell is cast and reproduce it in their own Ximaxian way with different means, then yes.

If you mean however with concept that elves have "water", "wind", "xeuá" magic and the like as categories in a magical system and that spells are cast similar to human spellcasting, then definitely no.

Shansi, I think you are not ready to do what is surely a big task, please wait till you are an older  member. Starting out with such big concept is not a good idea, believe me, we have experienced this already.

Talia.... I am not going to create or try to join the people who are trying to create the Elven magic... I was just a little bit curios because I have read about it being developed at some thread but I have forgotten it.

An idea just popped into my little head.... rolleyes
About how ximax and the elves look at magic and about spell formulas tht are written in elvish!
I just thought of something.....  grin

So i might be contradicting my statement above but anyone who would be interested with this idea?

What precisely is the idea? That humans use elvish spell formulas? That was planned anyway. Elvish is the scholars' tongue, which they use at least to express certain principles and stuff, and so such terms would be used in spell formulas. Note however that spell formulas are not the spells. They are the tools to cast spells the human (Ximaxian) way.

No, not necessary... Just wanted to make sure that the text you want to integrate is the final version :) Just leave the rest there!
28 May 2013, 03:57:46
Do you need me to remove the rest of it?  It was supposed to be a full blown entry, but still gathering facts for the other stuff.  I'll move the stuff to be integrated into its own entry.  :)
27 May 2013, 22:46:17
No problem there - are you sure that you've posted the final version? Text on the site is about a year old...
27 May 2013, 16:59:45
Art, I want to submit my Antislar Overview, Appearence, Territory and People sections for uploading on the next update, please. No rush with what you have going on, however.

23 May 2013, 16:47:05
