Thanks, Talia! Yes, I see the Shendar perhaps taking a little from the Serphelorians, a little from Aeruillin (didn't they get involved in a war down there?) and a whole lot from the Darian. Perhaps you could model the Darian on Somali language, or maybe Hindi (just the way language is used, I mean)? It will be an interesting excercise whichever way you choose to tackle it!

Yay, the gestures made it in here! Nicely described, our Serphels really got character!
And a bunch of nice ideas we've got here, like the seperate sentences, slang terms like the firth and xur, and a fine list one can use for reference to get into the Serphelorian spirit a bit better in order to play such a character or describe one in a story or an entry. Guess that shouldn't be much of an issue to have integrate, Grun
- And bawdy and carefree, but always making sure that the title is right? - Ah, women!

I'm quite impressed with what's here - while we may not need a Tharian/Serp dictionary anytime soon, the details that are given are character-ful, consistent, and serve to enrich the atmosphere. And yes, I particularly like 'firth' and 'xur', which I am certain have been picked up by cocky youth from other tribes (particularly the city lads and lasses who think they are tough) and thrown around in their own version of 'street slang'. Xur work!

a minor thing I noticed:
kaihmar – girl (pl. kahimari). This kahimar will grow into a strong warrior.
Is it kaihmar or kahimar? I'm guessing the second but just thought I'd point out there's some inconsistency there

Thanks, Irid!
Great to have that sort of thing picked up before it goes up. There were actually two instances. The root word is 'kai', strong, but 'kahimar' rolls off the tongue better than 'kaihmar' so I decided to go with the former
. Nothing one can't ascribe to generations of lingual shift, eh :p
