Tharoc/Alysse,

Do you want to help me think of some types of orcs who might inhabit the peninsula of Caeel’heroth? I need some ideas for my tribe entry. All I can find are various no-name nomadic tribes who wander the Hearths. Nothing specific as far as tribe names.

Long live the North!  :D

No, I would not want to live in a world without dragons, as I would not want to live in a world without magic, for that is a world without mystery, and that is a world without faith. And that, I fear, for any reasoning, conscious being, would be the cruelest trick of all.

Always glad of a little help with the Orcs, Azhira!

I have loads of ideas floating around, but most of them are going to be used on the already existing tribes. I was, however, considering creating a small tribe or clan of light brown or tan coloured orcs (after I've finished the updates on all the current tribes, obviously!). That's all I'd got so far, but you're welcome to take them if you so wish.

Maybe they could be a religious sect who shut themselves away from the rest of the world to await the end of days, like a Sarvonian doomsday cult?

Anyway, they're yours if you want 'em. If I think of anything else I'll let you know.

Good luck and " Big Up the Northern Sarvonians"

Hey, how about they are an underground political splinter group? We could call them the "NorSarv Popular Front".

And if that doesn't work, try switching it off and back on again.

After some more research, I discovered that the Osther-Oc live in Caeel’heroth around the Osthen Mountains...

So, my thinking is that when the Kaaer tribe migrated northeast to the Themed'lon forest and farther north, they encountered more sinister groups of races - dark elves, dark dwarves and the Osther-Oc. However, according to the entry, the Osther-Oc are not as bloodthirsty and savage as the other races...in fact, they have a culture of equality among the genders and a different form of religion.

My preference now is that the initial migrating Kuglimz had their first interaction with the Osther-Oc and fell into a sort of trade and alliance with them - however shaky. The culture of the Osther-Oc fits more in line with what I envision for the Kaaer tribe moreso than the Ashz-Oc.

And, this fits nicely with my intended plans to further develop Caeel’heroth anyway as soon as my Kaaer tribe is approved.  :D

The Osther-oc ARE a bloodthirsty lot, Azhira, but only when they are paid to be, so trade or council between them and others is not out of the question. When I do their update, I intend to make more of their mercenary activities, playing down the usual random Orcish bloodlust. The reason the females fight alongside the males is because that was the only way of keeping their armies at full strength, and when they saw how fiercely they fought, perhaps the males begrudgingly began to give them some measure of respect which over the years has gradually increased until we arrive at todays equality.

Fascinating lot, the Orcs, you know. Not quite the demonic, blood-crazed marauders people think they are. Well, not all of them, anyway. The Losh-oc are pretty much a lost cause, I'm afraid.
