Well, the Description, People, Climate, Location, Goverment, and Coat of Arms are done. Now just flora, fauna, history, overview, and myth/lore to do. This is coming along nicely :) Still have to add exact numbers of populations throughout, and would love someone to help me finish up the Mastermap. Note- If experts for the different races/tribes could take a look at the people section bits that pertain to them, I'd be ever grateful. Thank you :)
Really, I'll take whatever help I can get- where you want more detail, where it gets confusing, anything like that.

Description:

The Rimmerins Ring is one of the most prominent mountain ranges in the Kingdom of Santharia. Though it holds none of Sarvonia’s tallest peaks, it does boast some of the continent’s greatest vistas. Be you in the North East, South, West, or even in the foothills surrounding the Ring, you are sure to find a picture fit for an artist of Faugarian skill, or perhaps inspiration fit for a Masterbard’s epic. But what is it about the Ring that paints these pictures, be they on canvas or in the mind? The answer is different for everyone, for no two sides of the Ring are the same.

In the North, for instance, one would not find gently rolling streams, or curving hills basking in the sunlight. One would find peril-filled mountains, awe-inspiring gorges, and cliffs sheer as the ice that covers them. These sheer cliffs and sharp mountain tops have given this region the nickname “The Teeth”, or, to the Eyelians, “The Te’ik”. The North Range, beginning at the Anaios Gap and stretching down to the Stonedale Quarry, well deserves its nickname, as a common response to a traveler seeking to traverse into the Northern mountains “If the bears don’t bit ya, then the frost will”.

However, one must not discount the whole of the North as a peril-filled, unhallowed land. For if you stay to the foothills, and you avoid the Ogre’s territory, there are certainly redeeming features in the North. How else to explain the numerous Eyelian (mainly of the Bear clan, though the Anaios gap is undisputedly Wolf clan territory) settlements dotted throughout the lowlands, or the occasional Serphelorian village in slightly higher reaches or mountain valleys? Ask any Rimmerin, and you will get an explanation for the Serphelorians at least- “They’re so cold, their senses have gone south!”

Of course, it is neither senselessness nor a frigid climate that keeps the people here- it is the land itself. The soil of the foothills is rich, the trees are hardy, and the game is plenty. However, the danger here has still caused many of the Rimmerin settlements to be located elsewhere, and it to these more habitable regions we venture now.

As one travels south by east, the sharp cliffs and mountains begin to grow smaller, replaced by a more highlands-esque vista. The mountains here are less rocky, and are covered with lush vegetation. The exception is the Shieldlands, at the south edge of the East range. This area is rocky and barren, though there is a plethora of valuable minerals underneath, mainly silver and iron. Because of this, there have been some dwarven excursions into this area, and the hamlet of Kenerum, just south of the Shieldlands, is populated primarily by dwarven miners and the humans who provide them with food, weapons, equipment, and copious amounts of ale.

The South range, which begins at the Rusty Kettle Springs, is where many enter into the Ring’s interior to visit New-Santhala. Protected by the wings warden, the south entrance is home to many Eyelians, primarily of the Yourth clan. Here, there are many rocky crags, as well as dense forests, for Gryphs to fly and Eyelians to dwell. Of course, the dense forests also prove convent spots for highwaymen and bandits to ambush the many rich nobles and trade caravans that pass through the area.

The South range, despite the dangers it possess, is the most inhabited range of the four, as well as its most diverse. From the dwarves of the Urataroon Tradegrounds, to the men in Syhron and the Steadstone quarry, to the Eyelians of the Wings Warden and the Tomo’ga’ag villages, there are more races found in the South range then any place else in Sanguia, but for New-Santhala itself. For this reason, the South is named Tomo, or “World” in the Eyelian language.

The South is also remarkable for its fractured nature. Rather than being one stretching range, like the other three, the Tomo is really several mountain ranges, overlapping each other. In the South, you have the Raff Range, the Boar’s Teeth, The Manticore Heights (containing the legendary mountain, the Great Shingar), and the largest stretch, the Sierra of Santhros.

The West range is separated from the South by a massive, coursing river. The Thaehelvil River is its name, and as the Yellow Wanderer passes through the Rimmerins Ring, it begins to pick up speed. For from the heights of the West, where the proud Eyelia clan of Eyelians makes its home, there are many rivers, some large, some small, and all eventually pass into the Thaehelvi or the floodplains around it.

The Western Range is the only part of the ring with any significant population of elves. From the river itself, one finds the “Water Rat” elves, and the Quallian forest, just south of the Ring is home to the Ylfferhim Elves.

There is another reclusive race that is rumored to make its home in the Ring- the Vale Brownies! According to legend, this delightful race of diminutives can be found in the Vale of Brownies, located somewhere south of Kor Donion. Kor Donion, is of course, a dwarven city, home to the Strongpick Clan.

Location:
The Rimmerins Ring is located in Central Sanguia. Also known as “The Heartland”, the Ring is essentially in the Middle of the Santharian kingdom, wrapping around the capital city, New-Santhala.

People:

The Rimmerins Ring is home to nearly every race known to Caelereth- if they do not naturally inhabit the Ring, at least a small enclave can be found in the capital, or one of the hamlets in the area. For instance, Orcs, nigh unheard of outside Northern Sarvonia, can be found in the hamlet of Rolyri, just south and east of the Ring, and rumors have it that there are small colonies of orcs living throughout the north range. Whether this is ogre-fueled rumors, wild speculation, or a statement of fact is left for others to discover.

However, the fact the humans, dwarves, elves, gnomes, brownies, and ogres live in the area is undisputed and unalterable fact.  The races have been here for hundreds of years, and none of them aim to leave anytime soon.

Humans
The humans are by far the most prevalent species in the area, with two tribes (the Eyelians and the Serphelorians) being native to the area, and many other tribes inhabiting it.

Eyelians
The Eyelians live throughout the Ring, in small settlements, primarily in the West and South. Nearly the entire Eyelian population is based in the Ring or its foothills. These Eyelians are grouped semi-sporadically. Though at first the grouping of Eyelian population seems random, at second glance one sees that the Eyelians are grouped in several clusters. The most prominent, by far, is the Tomo district in New-Santhala. This massive ethnic enclave is one of the largest neighborhoods in the city, and stretches into the mountains near the capital. There are also significant Eyelian populations in Vreesran, a Bear clan village that lies in the North. This village is filled with proud warriors, who for years have safeguarded the interior of the Ring from foreign threats from the North. They often work together with the Serphelorians of the Rangwar Warden when Baal Ogre raiding parties descend from the mountaintops. In fact, the Santhran Shield’s Tavern in the village is owned and operated by Serphelorians, who often travel here to train with the Bear clan fighters.

The village is also filled, interestingly enough, with cheese farmers. The farmers here herd Rimmilch Cows, and were organized together by the Landgraven of Onved in 1550.

More Eyelian defenders are found in the Wings Warden corridor, stretching from the Kenerun Downs into the Manticore heights. The women who live in the many tiny villages here often strive to be inducted into the legendary Order of the Wings, based in the Wings Warden itself. These Eyelians are mostly of the Yourth clan, though the Wings Warden has brought Eyelians of clans together. For a purer Eagle Clan population, one would be advised to venture farther West, where the South range ends, before the West range begins.

The Wolf Clan Eyelians make their home in the Eyelia’Ma (Wolf Family) cluster, far in the West. The Eyelia’Ma region is found along the Nehoma River, which feeds itself into the Thaehelvil River. The “capital” of this cluster is the Vista Castle, at the Southern tip of the Anaios Gap.   There is also a cluster in the western foothills of small, agrarian villages, such as Kytta’erng.

The final cluster of Eyelian population is not a particularly large one- though it is one of the most notable and legendary. The Tomo’ga’ag villages are translated into Tharian as “The World of Ravens”. The Tomo’ga’ag is home to an offshoot of the Yourth tribe called, rightly enough, the San Ga’ag, or Assembled Ravens. These Eyelians are either the decedents of exiles, or exiles from the Wings Wardens villages themselves. The people here are throughout the ring as poison-makers, dark sorcerers, and general ne’er-do-wells. Though the San Ga’ag are not as imposing as a Baal Ogre from the North, they should be treated with the same respect, and an intelligent degree of fear. “Wander not into the World of Ravens,” warns one Eyelian parable, “Lest your own wings be clipped.”

Serphelorians

The Serphelorians were born a nomadic people, and still remain so, to a certain extent. They can be found throughout the Ring, and signs of Serphelorians dwellings are spotted throughout the region. The two most prominent examples are the Rangwar Warden, protecting Rimmerins from northern threats, and the Talwar Warden, overseeing the West. Serphelorians, or the Wardens, are seen all throughout the Ring, protecting those who need protection, and drinking all the ale that needs drinking! Many of these friendly folk have settled down, to an extent, and formed permanent settlements. For instance, Nalgyro, in the East range, is a Serphelorian settlement, meant to oversee the Serenity plains, just south of the village. These plains are so named, because this is where the Dwarves and Humans first began the dealings that allowed the Dwarves to mine from the Urtaroon Tradegrounds, Northwards to the Galki Thurson, in the shadow of the mighty Rangwar Warden.

Perhaps the most important Serphelorians dwelling is the town of Clymosis, just south of the Rangwar Warden. The Order of Seyella, also known as the Seyelite Army is based here, giving good reason why many choose to live so close to the north. When asked if one ancient Proudman feared to live in Onved, so close to the Baal Ogre homeland, he responded thusly: “T’ain’t no thing to be feared of up here but the Seyelites. And dey’re on our side!”

Other Humans

Most any type of Santharian Man can be found in the Ring, generally in the Eastern half. Be they denizens of the capital, or its sister city, Onved, humans have found the Ring to be an excellent source for trade, commerce, agriculture, and adventure. The most common tribe of humans in the Ring, second to the native tribes, are the Proudmen, closely followed by Centoraurians. Both tribes coexist peacefully with the native tribes, of the area, in both hamlets, and the two major cities.

More common than Erepheronian or Centaurian, or even Eyelian or Serphelorian, perhaps, is the Rimmerin man. The Rimmerin man is not exactly a tribe per say- he is more of a blend of several tribes. Found throughout the Ring, Rimmerin Men range the gamut from tall and dark blends of Serphelorian and Eyelian, or haughty and diminutive, mixes of Proudmen and Tamers. In the King’s Hollow, the Crucible of Santharia, one can find humans of extremely diverse lineage.

Dwarves

While Dwarves are a common enough sight in parts of the Rimmerins Ring, they are nowhere near as prevalent as humans. However, there is one tribe native to the Rimmerins, and the Dwarves have set up permanent shop throughout the East Ring, and in the very easternmost tip of the south. The dwarven structures here were built just after the unification of the races, when King Santhros finally fulfilled a centuries-old treaty that allowed Dwarves to mine in the Ring, in exchange for their aid in battle. With the newly granted mining rights, clans such as the Mitharim, Boltgrumms, Tenthrums, and Thrumgolz immigrated to the Rimmerins Ring, converging in the east. Since the immigration, the four Dwarf tribes have established the Urtaroon Tradegrounds, where a council of elder dwarves meets once every five years to discuss matters of commerce and mining. RusUntrum, Tyr Huntung, and Galki Thushon are the three principle centers of industry for the dwarves in the Ring, and the Silverrock Warden is the guard tower from which the Silverrock order (or, in the Dwarvish, StalTrum Shofim) operates, protecting both dwarven interests and human inhabitants in the Rimmerins Ring.

Tenthrums
Besides this agglomeration of Dwarves in the East, here is also a tribe of dwarves native to the Ring itself. The Tenthrums, also known as the Strongpick clan, are based in and around Kor Donion, in the West. They are located in what is historically considered Eyelian territory, though they have never felt any close kinship with the Eyelians. However, much trade exists between them and the Brownies, and Dwarf-Brownie trade routes exist throughout the Rimmerins Foothills. Perhaps the best known Tenthrum settlement, besides Kor Donion itself, is Mount PocRotrum, or Mount False Tallrock, in the Southwest area of the Rimmerins Ring. The mountain and its environs are home to several hundred brown druids, the vast majority of which are Strongpick Dwarves.

Elves

Though Humans make up the majority of Rimmerins, and Dwarves and Brownies add up to a good thirty percent of all Rimmerins, at least five percent of the natives of the Rimmerins are Elves.

Arhim
The Arhim make their dwellings in the Almatar forest, just north by east of the Ring proper. Though one would assume that this would lead to a large Rimmerin Arhim population, the craggy spires of the Teeth serve as a natural blockade, and one most elves consider not worth passing. However, some Arhim do travel through the Vreesran pass, along the Ilderon trail. This road skirts the Almatar forest, and leads directly into the King’s Hollow. The Arhim who do come into the Hollow amount to no more then perhaps a hundred per year, though each one that returns to his native forest brings word of an outstanding array and blend of cultures, facets of which are often adopted by the returning elf. How else to explain the increasing importation of Rimrunner Terrier Dogs into the Almatar forest?

Tethinrhim
There are very few Tethinrhim Elves in the Ring, and those that do travel here often create a fair bit of tension. Their forest, the Auturian Woods, is located just southeast of the Rimmerins Ring. As such, those that come to the Ring often must travel or live in the predominantly dwarven East range. Every year, one hears of at least one attack on a Tethinrhim family by some Dwarf extremist group, determined to expel elves from their midst. Please note that this does not reflect the general attitude of the Rimmerins Dwarf, or of Dwarves in general. However, it does indicate an air of hostility that more often then not, keeps the Elves of Auturia away.

Ylfferhim
A secluded tribe of Elves, the Ylfferhim live in the Quallian, just southwest of the Ring. Though they live on the very edge of the Ring itself, and their forest borders an Eyelian population center, they are rarely found outside their home, due to their private nature. However, they are beginning to become a bit more extroverted, and have initiated trade with some of the Eyelian towns nearby.

Quaelhoirhim
The Quaelhoirhim are perhaps the most common elves found in the Rimmerins Ring. Found in the Zeiphyrian Forest, due south of the South range, the Quaelhoirhim are an anomaly among the Sanguian elf tribes. That is, they have a great fondness for traveling, and have been described by one scholar as “a tribe of…. Xenophiles, quite willing to share their great stores of knowledge with their neighbors.” As such, the  Quaelhoirhim are often found in the capital, or in Onved, aiding Santharian leaders with political advice, or perhaps helping village councils decide on the best, least harmful, most efficient farming techniques. There are perhaps several hundred of the elves living in the King’s Hollow, mainly in the two largest cities.

Gnomes

Gnomes are a rarity in the Ring, though the presence of both New-Santhala and Onved means that a certain number of Daran Gnomes has been attracted to the King’s Hollow. These Gnomes have a small, though significant, population, and have formed the great Gnomil-Meein Togri, or Good Science Place. The Gnomil-Meein Togri is a massive guildhall in New-Santhala with three wings. The first wing is the Alchemy Hall, the Second for Glass-Working, and the last wing the Tinkering and Mechanics Hall. (Note- Perhaps a Gnomen scholar could help me with the names here?). Together, the three wings have created a center of science, where Gnomes disc-wide have gathered to study their respective arts. Together, there are approximately ________ Gnomes in the Hollow, almost exclusively found in the two main cities, and then with the vast majority living in New-Santhala.

Brownies
The Brownies have long been a mainstay in the Rimmerins Ring area, and are found not only in the foothills, but in the myths and stories of Rimmerin lore. There are many tales of Brownies, like the story “Keekoo and the Wolves”, telling of the time when the Brownies first encountered the Eyelians, so many years ago. The tale goes on to speak of Keekoo riding atop a beastmaster’s wolf, and the subsequent trouble it causes for both races. Though the majority of the story is fictional, the characters are (mostly) based on fact. For an even less historical tale, listen to a Rimmerin farmer, perhaps in the village of Jyth, and ask him about the Purplebark Brownies. Perhaps he will regale you with a long, drawn-out tale of clever little people with a taste for good vegetables, and an even bigger taste for children who don’t eat them. Or perhaps he’ll just pull out a clump of chives, and tell you to listen closely- you might hear their trapped souls crying out for help.
There are two real tribes of Brownies inhabiting the Ring- one in the foothills, and another in the King’s Hollow. The LLaoihrr, or Vale Brownies, live in the Vale of Brownies in the foothills near Kor Donion, and Rat Brownies are found in the elaborate sewers of New-Santhala, and the less-elaborate ones of Onved.

   LLaoihrr Brownies
The LLaoihrr Brownies are more often referred to as “Vale Brownies”, after their habitat, the legendary Vale of Brownies. Though the location is known to be somewhere in the foothills of the Rimmerins Ring, and somewhere south of Kor Donion, the exact location is a mystery, and the Brownies prefer to keep it that way. Almost the entire Vale Brownie population is found in the Vale, though a smattering of the small folk can be found among the smallest hamlets in the Ring. The LLaoihrr are becoming increasingly active in extra-vale affairs, and so may send representatives to the great cities. For instance, the Vale Brownie Rookie Brownbark was sent to study at the Great Library in New-Santhala, under the wing of Artidimor Federkial, and there are at least three “ambassadors” to the King in the capital city as well.

   Rat Brownies

Rat Brownies are perhaps the absolute converse to Vale Brownies. While Vale Brownies live in the desolate valleys of the Rimmerins Ring, and only a scant few are to be found in the cities, Rat Brownies are quite the opposite. These savage creatures live almost exclusively in the dark, dank sewers under both New-Santhala and Onved. They participate nothing to the local economies, except perhaps for keeping the sewer rat population down. However, some of the brutish tribes actually raise rats as war steeds, so any benefit they provide is cancelled out in the end. A truly fetid race, there have been occasional forays into the depths of the sewers to flush them out, though their size and sly nature always prevent the city-dwellers from taking out too many of the creatures.

Ogres

The Baal Ogres, as has been stated, live in the craggy spires of the North Range. They have been holed up in the Teeth by the Seylite army for quite some time, and today number only a few hundred. Today, the Ogres eek out a living on goat and deer meat, and the rare attack on an Eyelian village. The Ogres, generally considered a savage tribe, are native to the Ring, yet have no say in its governance.

Orcs
There are indeed no orcs native to Santharia. However, after the great Sarvonian wars around 228 b.S., some orcs were taken prisoner by humans and shipped down south to the Rimmerins Ring. There, they worked as forced manual labor for humans, mainly in the Stonedale, the Shieldlands, and the Steadstone Quarry. Today, their descendants, mixed with refugee orcs, and the occasional traveling Volkek Oshra have bred together, creating the Rimmerin Orc. These Orcs live either in small, slummish ghettoes within New-Santhala and the other cities and towns of the King’s Hollow, or in the hamlet of Rolyri, south and east of the Rimmerins Ring proper. Some say that the blend of Osther Oc, Volkek Oshra, Gob Oc, and Rhom Oc that makes up the modern-day Rimmerins Orc has found some peace and solace in small, hidden colonies in the North Range. Unfortunately, no matter where they reside in the Ring, Rimmerins Orcs (Or Rim Oc, as they are known in their own tongue) face prejudice and mistrust. Perhaps this must not always be so- at least two Orcs have found acceptance in the Ring. Grunok the Exile, a common visitor to the Ring, and more specifically, the Great Library of New-Santhala, has been counted a friend to the Serphelorian people. A fellow compendiumist, Tharoc Wargrider occasionally travels to the Library, to the great delight of not only his fellow scholars, but to the barkeeps as well!

Government

The Rimmerins Ring and the Kings Hollow make up the Rimhollow duchy of Sanguia. This duchy, like many in Santharia, is split into fiefs. The political boundaries in Rimhollow are set along political boundaries, and each fief is traditionally run by one race. As per tradition, the King’s Hollow Fief is headed by a human, often Erpheronian. The Te’ik, in the north is generally run by a Serphelorian, while the Tomo in the south is headed by an Eyelian representative. The Eastern duchy, Silverrock, is run by a dwarf. The West duchy, Riverrun, is often headed by an Eyelian elder, though he is typically advised by a Brownie aide.

The Duke is always picked from one of these Gravens, and he appoints a successor to fill his seat. Together, the Duke and his Gravens form the Rimmerins Council, an organization in charge of deciding both trade policy within the Ring, and the movements of the different Orders based throughout the Ring, including the Seylites and the Order of the Wings.

The Rimmerins Council is based in Onved, and the Gravens travel here once or twice a year as per tradition to discuss matters of varying import.

Coat of Arms

The Rimmerins Ring, as a mountain range, does not have a coat of arms of its own. However, the duchy does, and the shield is often found imprinted on prominent buildings. The coat of arms is split into four quarters. The upper-left corner is blue, with a tall, spire-esque mountain, representing the North Range. The upper-right symbolizes the East Range, and is colored silver, with a yellow pick as the charge. The lower-right quarter is green, with a gryph rampant for the South. The final quarter, in the lower-left represents the west, and is red, with a yellow river stretching across it. In the middle of the shield are two stars, representing Onved and New-Santhala.

The coat of arms is simple, and features a large, brown, Rimmerins Bear on a blue field. The Bear symbolizes strength, determination, and resilience, values held dear by every citizen of the Rimmerins Ring.

The coat of arms is simple, and features a gold ring encircling a gold star, on a black field. It is supported by a rampant bear and a rampant gryph.

Climate

The Climate of the Rimmerins Ring is generally warm, though it certainly varies by altitude. Year-round, the climate tends to be mild, and the King’s Hollow itself is very sheltered from the elements, and rarely sees great amounts of snow or rain at all. Indeed, if one does see snow in the Ring, it will most likely be in the North, as the high altitudes there lend themselves to year-long snowfalls, and a degree of permafrost. Other then the north, the Ring tends to be warm, hospitable, and fairly dry. However, there is enough rainfall every year for farmers to use the fertile soil to the maximum advantage. The West, more so then the rest of the Ring, tends to receive large amounts of rainfall.

Flora:
Now, the astute reader may have noticed that most things in the Rimmerins Ring tend to be divided into fives. As in, certain things are only found in one of the four mountain ranges or in the King's Hollow. However, flora and fauna prove the exception, generally speaking. For the most part, if a plant is found in one part of the Rimmerins Ring, it can be found throughout. However, certain plants are found more prevalently in the forested areas, while some prefer the highlands climate.

The Ring boasts a predominantly agrarian economy, and as such, one can easily find many common crops throughout it and its villages. The most common of the crops is most likely the Ae'lon, though there are plenty of

THE AE'LONS- Human peasants of the Rimmerins Ring say that Chives are the spirits of a vanished “Purplebark Brownie” tribe.
Quote
AHRILLICIA TREE- However, the highest density of Ahrhillicia Trees known is the Almatrar Forest just northwest of the Rimmerins Ring in central Santharia.
So surely we'd find a couple in the King's Hollow itself?
Quote
DALFERIA- Dalferia are further known to grow in and around Ximax and Rimmerins Ring, as well as in the hilly areas surrounding it.
Quote
THE SUNFLOWER- The Little Fire does well on the Higher Ground of Caelereth, and is common in Rimmerins Ring
Quote
WILLOW- The Willow grows anywhere there is a bit of water for it to suck up, and may be found almost everywhere in the Sarvonian continent except the dryest areas to the south. It is particularly flourishing east of the Rimmerins Ring area; in fact almost the entire Almatrar Forest below Hog is composed of willow, with some bog oak and ash mixed in. Wolf Willow, as noted above, prefers the more northern areas, and may be found from the Heath of Jernais upwards. Marsh Willow is found in bogs, fens, marshes, and coastal wetlands throughout Sarvonia.

THE RIMRUNNER TERRIER DOG ("RIMMER", "RATTER")- A small canine very popular in the southern areas of Santharia, the Rimrunner (short "Rimmer", also "Ratter") is an attractive, playful animal. It is primarily used as either a household pet or vermin-killer. As the name suggests, this dog originates from the Rimmerins Ring area in northern Manthria, though it has become more widely known in recent times.
Quote
RIMMILCH COW, THE
The Rimmilch Cow is by far the most common kind of cattle you will encounter in the United Kingdom of Santharia. As the name already implies, the Rimmilch Cow dominates the areas around the Rimmerins ring, but also can be found until the Tandalas up north, thus providing dairy products for large parts of Santharia and is especially liked for the excellent milch cheese.
Quote
THE DRELL (CAVE DRELL, ROCK LIZARD)
Territory. As their very existence is dependent upon dwarves or at least upon the scraps from the communal table, Drells are known to live underground in the eight mountain ranges in Sarvonia inhabited by dwarves though the creatures may inhabit other ranges as well, perhaps even those of other continents. In Southern Sarvonia these ranges are: the Mithral Mountains, the Rimmerins Ring, the Xythrian Ridge, the Kairean Teeth, the High Fores, and the Low Fores. To the north beyond the Tandala Highlands, Drells are found in the Imlith Mountains and the Prominent Mountains.
Quote
THE GRYPHON/GRIFFON- Especially sovereigns of the Eyelian tribe have always been, and continue to be, famous beast masters in Santharian history, and consequently have to be mentioned when speaking about the vigilant Gryphons . This holds especially true with the "Griffonrider" Taranthir II., whose extraordinary ability of taming wild Griffons inhabiting the Rimmerins Ring was greatly appreciated and sometimes even feared throughout the lands as such an act was always deemed as a deed of immense power and authority. It is for this reason that the king's most beloved Gryphon, Zarathim, is pictured on the Eyelian coat of arms, which, according to the reports of several sources, was a dangerous monster and only obeyed to the strict commands of its master.
Note- no where else in the entry is the Gryphon said to live in the Ring.
Quote
THE GRYPH- The Gryph's territory is in the high peaks of most mountain ranges across Caelereth, such as the High and Lower Fores in the Kingdom of Santharia. Gryphs can also be found at the Rimmerins Ring, near which the Order of the Wing is located, specialized on Gryph riders.
Quote
MIRJAH GROUNDBIRDS- Mirjah birds are common in almost all permanent settlements south of Rimmerins Ring. Also, several isolated populations can be found in Parda, Milkengrad, Naios, Thyslan, Carmalad, and throughout the island of Dhoranthakar. Only those villages deep within the woods are never populated, since the birds lack of flight turns them into a quick meal for the forest’s predators, while their speed is impaired by the fact that enemies now often come from above, instead of from the side, like most do in the more open areas.

THE MOGLIAR-The Mogliar live in tunnels which they dig under ground. They are located in Southern Sarvonia. There is an especially large colony of them in the lands north of the Auturian Woods, the region between the Rimmerins Ring and the Mithral Mountains. However, there have been occasional sightings of Mogliar reported in North Sarvonia as well.
Quote
THE MYRDDIN FALCON- A few sightings have been reported in the Mithral Mountains, or even as far north as the Rimmerins Ring.
Quote
THE PIKEWING MOTH- Finally, some fairy tales feature Brownies taming such a beast and using it as a riding creature. However, this tale clearly originates in Santharia for the Brownies mentioned are usually of the Llaoihrr tribe that dwell in the Rimmerin's Ring. As the existence of Pikewing in Santharia is still in dispute, this is more likely to be a product of fiction.
Worth mentioning, at least.

Plants:
Quote

TENTHRUM CLAN, THE ("STRONGPICK")
Dwarven clan located at the western part of the Rimmerins Ring, just east of Kor Donion and the Vale of Brownies - there exists much trade between this clan and the Brownies. They often have the latest Brownie technologies, and some long-standing friendships have developed between dwarf and Brownie craftsmen in their respective fields. As a result, the Tenthrums have a reputation for being the "liberals" of the dwarves, and are looked on with some mild suspicion by the other clans. Of course, the fiercely loyal nature of Thergerim society means that outsiders would never be able to exploit that suspicion to their advantage... "They'se may be odd uns," as one old Boltgrumm Granny was overheard to say, "but they'se our odd uns..."

THE OGRES- the Baal Ogres in the wilderness of the Rimmerins Ring and farther south.
Quote
THE BROWNIES- Llaoihrr Location The Valley of Brownies west of the Rimmers Ring.
This is obviously incomplete. Seems I'll need to do more then just a quick sie search here....
I'll probably catch up once I do the history, and check the places and maps.

Quote
THE ORDER OF THE WINGS- The Order of the Wings is located in the Rimmerins Ring. The buildings of the members are on the higher reaches, to make the gryphs feel at home. They also own some fertile lands lower down, to provide the members with food.
Quote
THE ORDER OF SEYELLA- Territory. The Order of Seyella is based just outside the town of Clymnios in Sanguia, on the opposite side of the Rimmerins Ring to the Eyelian Order of the Wings. Almost the entire town is devoted to some aspect of feeding, clothing, and of course entertaining these women and men. Multiple tanners and weapons smithies compete for the Seyelite san, showing arms and armour of the highest quality, often at relatively low prices. Taverns and bawdy-houses line the streets, and farms blanket the areas around Seyelite lands, striving to supply both the Order and the places of entertainment the Seyelites love to patronise.
Quote
THE TENTHRUM THERGERIM BLUETWINE
Eventually the Council decided to foster the boy out, and he was apprenticed to the Brownie Woodworker Clan, which at the time often contracted out to nearby human towns, in the nearby Vale of Brownies and in the Rimmerins Ring area, doing the heavy (for Brownies) labour and hauling.

CANDILLA don't you mean Kyndi'i, or some such name, Art? Shame, shame, using Ereph. nomenclature for an Eyelian!  ;)Candillia originated from the Order of the Wings, an exclusive order of female fighters, which was founded at the time of SW I by the Eyelians at the southern peaks of the mountains of the Rimmerins Ring.

Places... then I'm done for a bit.
Quote
FALSE MOUNTAIN- PocRotrum (Thergerim for "False Tallrock" or "False Mountain") is a small mountain created by brown druids, near the southwestern tip of the Rimmerins Rings. It is home to several hundred druids, primarily Tenthrum dwarves, and is also the place where brown druids meet when one of their calls is issued, although the original intentions behind its creation was the want of their own piece of earth, so that they might better use their magic.
Quote
THE VISTA CASTLE
Santharian castle located in the hill-lands of the outer Rimmerins Ring around the capital Santhala, close to the Anaios Gap.
Quote
THE THAEHELVIL RIVER ("YELLOW WANDERER")
The Thaehelvil is unusual in that for such a large river it has very few tributaries. The only tributary of any note is the Wide River, flowing out of the Vale of the Brownies. Instead the river is fed by run off from precipitation that falls on the highlands of Rimmerins Ring, that surrounds the river.
Alright, I've got to go, but I'll be bak.

Then take me disappearin' through the smoke rings of my mind,
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves,
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach,
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow.
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free,
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands,
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves,
Let me forget about today until tomorrow.

History
Quote
8900 b.S.  First new Serphelorian Settlements are Built
People from Chrondra go out to found new settlements on the Elverground, at the north side of the Gulf of Maraya or further north near the Rimmerins Ring. Most of the founders of these settlements are full- or half-blooded Avennorians, meaning most of the ruling class are originally Avennorian. Many remember their heritage, but nearly all consider themselves Serphelorian anyway.

Quote
ca. 8600 b.S.
to 6000 b.S.  War between the Serphelorians and Eyelia
Serphelorian settlers make it as far west as the Thaehelvil River and encounter Eyelians. Both groups are trying to spread; Eyelians lay claim to the Rimmerins Ring (due to the gryph aeries there); Serphelorians claim it as their roaming-lands as they travelled through it. Both groups try to work it out, but the difference in their culture lead to a clash. Eyelians think Serphelorians rude because they are loud and brash; Serphelorians think Eyelians rude because their quiet (seen as cold) and slow behaviour(seen as obstructive), so eventually this leads to war.

The Rimmerins Ring and the western Elverground are constantly fought over. Many different solutions are tried by various different leaders of each tribe, with varying degrees of success. There are occasional cease-fires, occasionally more terrible battles, but generally constant skirmishing as both sides try to hold their lines.

This continues until around 6000 b.S. when there is a peace treaty; broken by one of the first queens in 3000 b.S. Skirmishes would then continues until the Serphelorian kindom falls in 400ish b.S. Now a.S. there is still a rivalry between their armies, though much more friendly now, esecially. since they are charged with protecting Eyelians (the tribal principle of "katmoh").

Quote
8066 b.S.  Quesvath crowns herself Jakat of Serpheloria
For the occasion of her coronation the first proper map of Serpheloria is drawn up. Quesvath's realm stretches from Elsreth in the north to Chrondra in the south, and from the east cost to the Rimmerins Ring. The Ring is disputed territory with the Eyelians - nomadic bands of Serphelorian roam here as do Eyelians. Fighting has been going on between nomadic groups and villages of Eyelians for some time now. All those living in her Kingdom of Serpheloria are now called Serphelorians, as opposed to the previous distinction of Serphelorians in the south, and nomadic Sophronians to the north.

Quote
1.550  The Landgraven of Onved, Harvoon Jorennal, reestablishes Cheese Production
Rimmilch cows have by now been domesticated for centuries, for their fine milch and and the delicate cheese which was made out of it. However, after the Time of Havoc cheese is only made by single families; not much trade happens and so almost no local cheese is available. Harvoon Jorennwal, Landgraven of Onved at this time, realises the potential of his cows and opens in Onved the first cheesery of the region. He also works towards a higher milch production, inspires the invention of new receipts (Rimmirac, Rimmiched, etc.) which were lost during the times of war, and finally organises the whole area within the Rimmerins Ring, setting up contracts with the towns of Vreesran and Clymnios, which had followed his lead and had increased milch production as well. This prevents the three cities from competing for the market in New-Santhala. Prices thus remain reasonable for both producers and consumers. Today the receipts have been sold to other areas where Rimmilch cows are farmed; however, cheeses are not allowed to be marketed under the original name alone but must add the area name.

THE TOWN OF CLYMNIOS
Clymnios is a small but busy town inside the Rimmerins' Ring, in the province of Sanguia. Many of the town's mainly Serphelorian inhabitants have some link to the people of the Order of Seyella, which has its base an hour's ride outside the town. Friends and relatives of the women live here, as do the many merchants, craftswomen and tavern owners who compete for the warriors' sans.

This seems like a big project. The amount of cross referencing is staggering! When complete, it would be a huge piece of Santh history done as well as a great place entry to spawn other place entries around it.
