The Seal of the Deep Winds...a legendary artifact of darkpower, is rumored to exist in the ancient Deep Winds Portal. This is the tale of one brave explorer, along with his two guides, who risk their lives to face the dangers of the Netherworld itself in search of fame and power...

"The mists stand before me, heavy and thick, swirling like a living entity. Tendrils of fog reach out to me like wispy fingers seeking to stab at my soul and leech my very life away. I resist the urge to flee the wall of fog as it seems I feel hundreds of eyes peering at me through the impenetrable mist. I hear dead silence as if the very noise of the world has fallen away and I stand before an empty shell of void where reality ceases to exist, and it may very well could be as such, if the lore has any amount of truth to it.

Nevertheless, I glance at my guides, a pair of stalwart half-orcs of the Kaaer'dar'shin, whom I have hired to bring me here. They are Hunters in seek of the perfect beast with which to slay. I am considered a friend of their honorary shamaness, Azhira El'rosse, and as such they consider me a friend as well. Their names are Knaar and Hruuc. They are spindly men, lean with wire muscles, but you could never tell with the thick furs they wear now. The spring wind blows fiercely around us and whips my sandy colored hair around my head and the two warriors experience the same. Knaar, with his many braids and black war paint remains stoic as he stares at the mist before him. Hruuc, glances around warily, his own hair braids flying haphazardly while his gray eyes search for unseen enemies.

I brandish my staff before me and in a blink, a flash of fire erupts along the tip. The fire ounia in the snowy, wintry air is difficult to manipulate, but for a mage of my skill, it is not at all impossible. The staff I hold is my own red birch staff, cut and ornamented with exquisite runes of my own design. I stand before the Mists of Osthemangar a fully trained and experienced mage of the fire element. I have explored uncounted ruins and tombs over my years of life and I am about to undertake my greatest expedition yet. To find the mythical Seal of the Deep Winds...a legendary relic of dark power. Some say the seal is an amulet, some lore says it is a shield...while some say it is weapon. Whatever it is, as a collector of ancient artifacts, I intend to find it.

But, I must first find my way through the Mists of Osthemangar...

No, I would not want to live in a world without dragons, as I would not want to live in a world without magic, for that is a world without mystery, and that is a world without faith. And that, I fear, for any reasoning, conscious being, would be the cruelest trick of all.
