I will never be hailed a great poet, but through the inspiration of the brilliant Pura Lopez-Colome I have decided to give poetry a whirl. In prelude I must say that Colome uses a form of mixed stanza and prose that I will try to emulate. My feelings will not be hurt at all if my talent is found lacking.

Who's to Blame? (As written by a sympathetic elf)

Of health, all of humanity sing,
a life that's all too short, mean and cruel,
absorbing knowledge while they can,
unrelenting their lifelong quests,
dreaming bigger than they dare.

Each human rushes in an attempt to achieve all life's goals. A blacksmiths hammer never stops, and scholars know sleep less as life goes. Only the ant can compair in strife. Of all the poor creatures and their terribly short lives, maybe men have it worst of all.

What envy they have for the elves,
who's song is slow, sweet ,and long,
each so patient as they abide,
for all the knowledge them to find,
no hurry, no rush, it will come.

When have you ever seen an elf rush? No detail is too small and no answer too great, as they examine the hair upon the wolf's head. Every thing is built with such great care, and even death is not bound by time.

Unfair, the gods, when they cast the lots,
one owns all that's short and bitter,
while the other revels sweet and long,
this is the root of all their hatred,
so only a fool could call them evil.

If one has the stars, and the other the dirt, can the second help but feel the hurt. Is it unfair for him to ask for what is fair? For, the biggest dreams of even the brightest dirt, to the stars are not to be compared. How poor is the child born with rounded ears!

For many wars they are put to blame,
reaching for stars was their only fault,
and dreaming big was their only hope,
to make up for life's cruel mean joke,
man, dwarf, elf, who is wrong?

I am to blame for all that is wrong,
only the gods could make that bold claim,
and I hear no words from the mighty up high.
what a shame, only they can't die.

Thank you very much, Maggie O'Shannachan, but I did not succeed as I had wished. I had hoped to convey a much more tangible connection between the prose and stanza. I'm afraid Colome might be ashamed. Too bad. cry   I am excited to move one, however, and maybe my next will be much better. grin grin grin

Keep Dreaming,

Hello all! It's been a minute since I poked my nose in here. Can't remember if I ever did anything useful.

Ah, too bad that internet is so restricted in China, Ferra. Can't be much fun surfing the web that way if Big Brother's watching you... Hope you enjoy your stay nevertheless!

Hi, dear Arti and other developers!

This year I am in China and cannot use any Google services including YouTube. For this reason I stopped uploading new Nepris videos. I can also not read any comments there.

It just crossed my mind that this information might be useful to you.

Cheers
