I wouldn't bet on it.

I feel that introducing Cannons etc. leads to guns, gunpowder etc. and this isn't really the direction that Santharia should be taken in...

Besides, aren't there other applications with technological than weapons?

Well, we may not be harnessing the power of steam, but I had an idea for a gnomish invention today, in chem, that definitely harnesses the power of water. Just think much colder than steam. evil

Not onsite i have, but they have been worked out on paper already. The Trumarim elevators use hot air balloons to rise and fall, instead of steam. With oil to, well, burn, they can afford to keep the required fires burning for all eternity.

I see, I have a totally different concept, using waterpower and manpower, both to compensate the friction. Otherwise, people who are going down will lift those who want to go up, so some may choose to take the stairs instead, a certain waiting time is always necessary :)
