Just playing around seeing if I could get my water painting ability to be more convincing.   This is 'background' for now, but I'm not saying for what.  I'm sure Art can use the pic itself for a Santhworld environment - you can 'zoom in' to that spot between the trees, for example, or animate the ripples on the water with a simple overlay.  Hope you like the atmosphere created here -it's very 'Northern Ontario'!

I think we've seen different bits of northern ontario Judith. My memories of involve copious amounts of rock and evergreens. Awesome picture.

Judith,  Have you ever seen a picture done by someone else and wish you were the one that drew it.  That's how i feel.  I like this pic alot.  The water looks great and the feeling of depth is done well.  I could see you putting a Santharian swamp creature in here somewhere to really bring it to life.

Wow! is the word that springs to mind. I see no reason to try and improve your technique there, Judy.
Even more impressive in my eyes is the bark on the trees. It looks like it would leave a hard-to-shift stain if you brushed against it!

Well done.

Oh, and  big hug

Someone finally manages to wrestle the spotlight out of Seeker's possession  grin

This is a brilliant picture Judith, I particularly like the reflections in the water!

Very very nice - especially the effect on the water - I wish I could do that. I am taking art classes to learn watercolour now and I'm just no good with water.

Great mood, Judy! Er... I mean the picture, not actually your mood on which you say it is based on. This is really magnificently executed, the water looks not too effect-y (in the sense of done with a painting program effect), nor does it look too drawn that it doesn't look like water - it's pretty much perfect the way it is, so you've definitely succeeded on your mission of drawing better water! A marvellous scenery, absolutely stunning! clap clap clap

Oh, and of course I'm curious what you try to draw in front of that background!  grin

Now we just have to think about where to put it, and if we don't find anything proper yet, I might have to do an entry on the Nepris Baych Swamps just to get this one in :) For Santhworld sucha picture is really perfect as it can be cropped to be used in multiple pics, perfect! Animating ripples also sounds very interesting, it's something I'm surely gonna try. Subtle animations that are played in a loop could contribute a good deal to the atmosphere of an interactive environment, so this is a wonderful candidate to work on that.

P.S. Here's hope that more sooner than later we get a caption reading "Jude's Mood produces Bright Warm Sunny Day Landscape"! All the best, Judy!  thumbup

Yep, even though there's the risk that you popularity goes through the roof, you get an extra aura point from here as well, Judy!  thumbup

Judy, this may be one of your best pictures yet :)
I love the swirling, gentle style, for it. Perhaps Seeker could through one of his creatures into here?

No way Nsiki, this is Judith's piece, and I must say again I am impressed.

Anyhow, She does some mighty fine creatures herself, I hope she has enough "mood" to conjure up a ghastly being to live in this place.

Perhaps a nasty little swamp Kaimun?  (the closest thing we have to a Santharian alligator)  Either crawling up out of the water, or  shown dimly drifting just below the water surface with only its beady little eyes glowing malevolently above?

Oh, that's one of MY entries? (tries hard to look innocent)  Well, far be it from me to try to take advantage of a little nepotism, here.  But really, most of our water monsters are huge ocean beasties, not  swamp dwellers, so the choices (at least for scary monsters) are a bit limited.

Anyway, it's a great picture, whether as a background or landscape image.

Actually, having just taken another look at this picture has given me an idea for a semi-sentient mould/fungus which would thrive in dark, dmap places such as this, especially if it was humid............*scuttles off to make some notes*

Spectacularly excellent, Judith. Whatever creature you may have in mind for putting into this landscape, I feel sure it's lurking just behind one of those trees. Or in the reeds. Or just under the water's surface. I shudder in fear and excitement.
