Nature Poems

Autumn


In the months before winter
On the trees swaying in the wind
Are colorful leaves
All shades of orange and red

They fall from the trees
Leaving them bare
And ready to sleep
For as long as it’s cold

A carpet of leaves
Has formed on the ground
Weaving a mosaic
Of swirling yellows and reds

Frost starts to dress
The leaves on the ground
And the trunks of the trees
All around

Intricately weaved
By Grothar last night
There are beautiful patterns
Coating the world

Little flakes start to fall
All over the ground
And white is all around
Winter is starting
Autumn is ending
In the never ending circle of life
