Well, well, well! Never thought I'd see the shores pf Santharia again - its been quite some time since I've wandered this way, but it seems Santharia's called me home again, albeit by a new name and race. Well, there are tales to be wrought, and songs got me to sing: so tell me friends and wanderers: where my journey may begin?

Oh, just a pilgrim wandering about Southern Sarvonia ;)
More bulletins as events warrant, anyways, I'd hate to ruin the surprise!

Welcome back (although I wasn't here when you were here last, I expect) so it is just welcome from me,

I hope you like what we've done with the place since you were last here, and that you find something that takes your fancy with regards to development.

Here, have some cookies and stay away from Valan ... he gets grumpy sometimes!

"Nothing but a pilgrim, you say?" Mira seems to consider this for a moment, before offering the 'new' arrival some hot k'laaf. "Well, have a drink at any rate, and warm yourselves by the fire. Welcome back!"

Wonderful welcome back.  :D  Glad to see that some of our previous Santharians are returning for more.  Surprise, you mention a surprise.  I can't wait.  As far as where your journey can begin..well we always have weapons that need entries.  Feel free to start there if you so choose.  thumbup

*Eyes the newbie curiously. *

Should I know you? And why do you not reveal, who you were, so that we can welcome you with all out heart as a lost old friend?

Well, come in and have some Shendar Fire - that might give us a hint, who you are ;).

*offers him a jug of pure water afterwards*

Hullo, Sanash! Jenna, a pesky newbish hobbit, here. I hope to see you around and am now thoroughly intrigued as to what you might be producing. That whole aura of mystery around a returning oldbie helps, as well, of course... ;)

Sanash eyes the goodies with a wary eye, before nodding his ascent. Lifting his hands, ever-so-slowly up to his hood, he gives a cautious wink, lowers his veil and.... is revealed to be an entirely unfamiliar Erpheronian.

"Couldn't ruin the surprise that easily, eh? Anyways, ol' Sanash has his reasons for keeping secrets - 'tis hard to start out a new journey if yer backs already hurtin' with scrolls, ayuh?"

The Wayfarer takes a long heart drink of the Shendar ale. "Me dear Lady," he quips, "perhaps ye'd like some water?"

Smiling a roguish smile, Sanash unrolls his pack. "Now, where'd I put those, where'd I put those?" He unrolls his bag, producing all manner of libations, snacks, scrolls, and quills. Happening upon a small notebook, he at once lights up with delight. "Ah! Good friends! Have any of ye ever happened upon a Minchskin notebook? P'rhaps if I had a moment to talk with the Bard, she could enlighten me onto the processes involved in stripping a Minchwrat of its hide... that is, if anyones seen hide or hair of the fine Lady?"

Of course, 'pon, re-rereading the Minch entry, it seems the hide may be a bit too dry to produce leather this fine - anyone know where a Wayfarer could find a Mole-esque creature?
Or pr'haps we just have a surly ol' Dwarfen bookbinder named Urgnut Minchskin or summat who keeps his weatherproof book-binding techniques to 'emself?

You could soak the bindings in something, an oil perhaps? I believe that's what used to be used to waterproof cloth. And then make them more like a box, extending the bindings around the edges of the book somehow. Wrapping them in oiled cloth would have a similar effect, if not the same... look as a proper waterproofed binding.

Pr'haps the box idea holds some merit... put little weights in the pages to make em lie flat as well... seems Mr. Minchskin (Gnome?) was quite the bookbinder indeed...
