Rayne/Coren: Disagreement ensuing from 'Cloud Elves' thread: closed.

Kalina, no one has to read the discussion. And in all honesty, there are so many better things to read! Why would you waste your time reading this discussion? And how are we engaging the entire boards? We're not calling on anyone to step in--you have done this yourself, without either of us asking you to. Perhaps you're engaging yourself?

And in everything you do, people form opinions of you. My motivation for continuing discussion is not based in changing people's opinions, but strengthening the communication with someone I want to work with, someone who I value as a friend and a developer. I feel worrying about "reputations" is a bit superficial, especially given this context. In all honesty, communication and friendship means more to me than my reputation.

And based on your post, I don't believe you've been reading the same discussion that I have. I see both Coren and myself reaching a new understanding. I came to an epiphany in my last post concerning how I should talk to Coren--that I should take steps to suit my discourse to him instead of trying to force him to accept mine. I'm disappointed you don't see the progress I see.

And to your issue of an entry:
When you build a building, you draw up plans, you build models, you construct scaffolding, you even create whole programs for visualization. When engaged in each of these activities, you haven't actually been BUILDING the building, but you've laid down the groundwork, done all the things you need to do to ensure the building is well-build and structurally sound.

I know it doesn't seem like we're getting the entry completed, but we are laying the groundwork.

Coren: To be honest, I'm a bit puzzled at your response. I don't want to force you to expound upon things if you're not willing to, but I will say that I'm very confused. Now that I feel I've been able to understand the perspective you have and your means of communication, I feel I've become more sensitized to how you read and understand things. I am not wounded by what you have said today. In fact, today has helped me recover from a lot of what was plaguing me before. I hope I have not hurt you in my last post: it was not my intention.

This discussion may be more efficient if we could talk more directly. Again, this is your call. I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable.
