(grabs Alt AND Tharoc and pulls them both in for a hug)

(tries to breathe)

(lets go abashedly and begins brushing the warghair and burrito crumbs off her green tunic)

Yes, in all seriousness Alt is of course correct.  My apologies if any of the thoughtless teasing and banter hit a nerve.  It certainly can go too far sometimes.

All the status, aura points, smileys, clapping dudes, awards etc. are all just for fun anyway.   All I care is that we enjoy each others company as we work on creating this fun world together.

I will humbly return to my palette.  I think my next pic is just days away from being ready for a first post.

*enjoys the Bards lavish huigs*  Sorry bout the Burrito crumbs.

I was not speeking out against you, Seeker. :)  Just letting our big du- er, green friend know that he has not to push himself to do the Masterwork.  We know you were only teasing him.  Though, that's something akin to teasing a pitbull I reckon.

*tummy grumbles and growls*

Uhm... I need to get to the Texaco station.  Talk to ya later.

*runs*

*Successfully fights the urge to pinch the MasterBard's matronly backside during the hug. But only just.*

@ Seeker. Worry not, my paint-stained friend, your well-meant teasing was taken as just that. My apologies if my response seemed somewhat terse. I have thought about this all day at work and was worried that I may have offended you by my words.
Basically, what I was trying to say was that until such time as I feel ready to proceed with a Masterwork, if ever, then I am blissfully happy to wander willy-nilly through the forums adding my 2 san's worth wherever I feel it may be of some good.
One of the many things I love about this site and it's members is that anyone, even a complete newbie, can create something wonderful and help to make this world a richer place. I feel no great need to advance myself to the dizzy heights of Full Membership, I'm happy pottering around with the lower ranks and helping those who aspire to greatness reach their goal.

Oh, and a word of advice; poking an orc with any stick, regardless of length, girth or pointyness is generally accepted as being a pretty bad idea. I should write that on your little piece of paper, if I were you.  ;)

@ Alt. I've been trying to think of something wise but hilariously funny in response to your scarily intuitive reading of my mindset. I failed.
What I can say is that I agree completely with you. For me, a Masterwork should be the definitive entry about whatever its subject matter is. When I first kicked around my Gates of Hell'wrung idea I looked to the likes of Rookie's Brownie Council tree, Azzy's Kaaer'dar'shin and your own Remusian Men Masterworks as my inspiration for what level of detail I should aspire to.
Not everyone thinks the same way, I know, and I mean no detriment to those whose ideas run contrary to mine. As you yourself so eloquently said, "A Masterwork is as much about you as it is about Santharia. It should be something you look back on with pride." It matters not a jot whether you accomplish this in 1000 words, or 10,000, as long as the finished article is of your very best then no-one can ask for any more.
As for doing it piece by piece, I'm afraid that's a non-starter from my perspective. If I put something down half-finished, then it's pretty much guaranteed that's exactly how it will stay. Witness my earlier post to Seeker regarding my off-site Santh folder!  rolleyes

Use the force, Luke.

And if that doesn't work, try switching it off and back on again.

Perhaps we both worried for no reason then.  But I guess it is the fact that we are willing to worry that makes it work.  :)

Now you will have to apologize to Bard for referring to her backside as matronly.   undecided  grin

No need to make a reply.  I carry around this soapbox with me all the time, and if I don't get up on it and pontificate once in awhile, people just think of it as strange. :)

Back to the topic...

I keep wanting to take over Talia's unfinished clerical stuff but she won't let me!  :P

I just need her to be absent for a few more weeks...then it will all be mine!  grin

No, I would not want to live in a world without dragons, as I would not want to live in a world without magic, for that is a world without mystery, and that is a world without faith. And that, I fear, for any reasoning, conscious being, would be the cruelest trick of all.

I prefer, only because I am an impeccably (though not unpinchably) precise person, 'ample' to 'matronly'.  Though in strict honesty and equal precision, 'matronly' is likewise technically correct, it suggests an aura of bland unapproachability and decided lack of sensuality.

(Stops to wonder if 'ample' is any better and decides that perhaps 'succulent'.... no, no, never mind.   The Bard resolves to investigate that new Goutonchic bustled corset that her friends are all raving about and see if that will offer any protection that her sharp tongue and bardic wrath might not otherwise fend off...)

At any rate, an apology is not necessary;  one trusts that Seeker will not be losing any sans to the Great Green One through having nobly though rather unwisely taken him up on his gamble in defense of the bardic backs...er, bardic honour.

(glances hastily over at Azhira, whose full lips are compressing dangerously and whose foot is tapping the floor in a pattern that suggests 'May I have my thread back now?' and quickly scoots back to her desk, skirts flicking the floor....)

A few more weeks, Azhira? I'm never absent, just not always posting, if I have nothing important to say  buck

Just because I'm not commenting on every second entry anymore does not mean, I'm away!

Don't worry, the clerical stuff is on the list on top, nearly..

That is most definitely not what I meant by matronly!

I was thinking more along the lines of shapely or curvaceous. Maybe even comely.

*notices whisps of smoke beginning to trail from Azhira's ears and decides to scarper before she blows her lid, snatching the purse of coins from Dek's hand as he passes*
