Glad you're enjoying it, Alinfa!

If you want a hint about the bird puzzle (I'm assuming that's what you're referring to), just say. Others before you have wanted one  ... :)

*sigh*
I don't get around, just give me a hint please:
Do I have to open a single drawer, or a few, more than once?
Should I 'Leave drawers' after every failed attempt?

Thanks!

Hello, Alinfa! Looks like you're pretty far, but the drawers puzzle sure is one of the most difficult ones... So some notes on that (select the text below to see the spoilers):

- Yes, you only need to pull each drawer once to solve the puzzle.
- You don't need to leave the drawers, you can simply start anew again.
- Make sure to talk to Kunigunde about the poem, she has some help to offer.
- You could also post the sequence you suppose is correct, but doesn't work and I could give you more detailed hints on getting it right...

Thanks, Artimidor, that did help to reduce the number of possibilities..but

Here the important letters of the poem, as the poem runs, which I think I got right. Then a few of my attempts..

S
HF
CA
PA --> AP?
VF -->  FV?
D-HP --> D-PH?

SHFCAAPFVDHPS
SHFCAPAFVDPHS

SHFCAPVDS

OK, so let's see:

- First of all: The poem says "You want to hear the Corbies cry? It‘s easy!" - This actually refers to the result of the whole thing, to the end of the line, as there you'll find the Corbie. So you don't need to start off with that one.

- It's important first to analyse what the lines represent and then set the birds in relation to each other to get a complete chain. So first the analysis of the lines...

- The interpretation of the first three lines is fine.

- At the fourth line you have:
The chatterbird (P) hears the Aelirel (A), and follows.
Which means: P follows after A - so it's AP

- Similar thing with line five... - I leave that to you...

- The final one actually has three birds, and they provide the missing link to complete the chain:

The Dragonbird (D) - tail burning (H), beak chattering (P)

If you read it correctly you'll see that the Dragonbird is in the middle of these three... If the Dragonbird's tail is burning then the H is flying behind the Dragonbird, and at its beak there's the Psitta, so...

- Don't forget that once you have resolved all the lines, you need to put them in the correct order by rearranging them properly to make a logical chain!

Methinks now you should be able to get the chain together... Give it a try, Alinfa! You're tremendously close to the finale!

Thanks for all the help, Artimidor, but I fear I won't solve the puzzzle this time either. I don't think I had problems with the translation and the rearrangement, except the last line, but I fear I have problems with what you called 'logical chain'.

The unshortened version would be this:
HF CA AP FV PDH S .. or HF CA AP FV HDP S, if the world is turned upside down in the last line also.

If I have to draw each drawer only once, it would be
HFCAPVD S  or perhaps starting with the end
DVPACFH S

However, this would superseed  the turned around order in line three and four AND the last one, so I ommitted only to use a drawer twice in a row.

HF CA   P FV PDH S
HF CA   P FV HDP S

(and started from the end also, without S of course)

Nothing worked. :(

Well, thanks anyway, maybe I'm back in a week or so.

Ok, Alinfa - we'll deal with it now once and for all...  grin

Somehow you still think in the wrong direction - but you're persistent! Methinks you miss the key point of the Shufflish thingy, which is that the lines need to be put in the right order. It actually isn't as difficult as it seems, so I'll do it step by step, putting the lines in correct order first and follow each line by the conclusion:

The Cao-Cao-Bird (C) coos, the Aelirel (A) sings too late
CA

The (P) chatterbird hears the Aelirel (A), and follows.
CA + P

The Dragonbird (D) - tail burning (H = haloen), (P = Psitta) beak chattering
CA + P + DH

The Haloen (H) watches quietly as the myrrdin (F) comes
CA + P + DH + F

The Varcosparrow (V) persues the myrrdin Falcon (F)
CA + P + DH + F + V

You want to hear the (S) Corbies cry? It‘s easy!
CA + P + DH + F + V + S

In short:
CAPDHFVS

No, not necessary... Just wanted to make sure that the text you want to integrate is the final version :) Just leave the rest there!
28 May 2013, 03:57:46
Do you need me to remove the rest of it?  It was supposed to be a full blown entry, but still gathering facts for the other stuff.  I'll move the stuff to be integrated into its own entry.  :)
27 May 2013, 22:46:17
No problem there - are you sure that you've posted the final version? Text on the site is about a year old...

Art, I want to submit my Antislar Overview, Appearence, Territory and People sections for uploading on the next update, please. No rush with what you have going on, however.
