Quite well, since I managed to find the time to finish it! (At least I think so!)

Splendid! I have nowt but a few nits to pick, and otherwise approve of this entry and recommend it for a blarrow. Aura from me!

Here’s my half a handful of things to sort out:
Quote
A Finding will draw a person, typically the witch who has crafted it, towards whatever it is meant to seek. It does not tend to do so directly, in many cases. The path a Finding shows is rarely straight-forward, and based on the skill of the witch may not hone in exactly on the target but will merely lead near to it. Findings may also be used to find living things, people or animals, inanimate objects ranging from lost jewellery to ore to fertile soil.
I suggest to delete ‘also’ here. Makes no sense in the context of how you’ve written the paragraph now.

Quote
While other methods of casting a finding exist, among the most bizarre is that of the Cauldron Witches, who brew an particularly noxious stew,
… a …

Quote
When consumed, the searcher (typically the witch, as few are willing to consume the stew) feels a pull from the gut towards the object of the finding. Needless to say this particular finding lasts only as long as the stew stays in the belly (which may be passing short, depending on the gastronomic fortitude of the imbiber) and will end if the contents of the stomach should be voided.
Lovely passage! (No critical comments here.)

Some disagreement is had over what to use for this focus; some witches may craft the pin-bauble and use an stay pin, up to and including a hair pin, or a knitting needle, while others claim that the needle or pin used to sew or knit the bauble together improves the potency of the spell.
I didn’t understand this. Did you mean to say: ‘any old pin’, rather than the one they used to sew the bauble?

Quote
The dowsing rod varies from witch to witch, based purely on the wood used. Some witches swear by dowsing rods made from the soft, pliable wood of a willow branch, while others prefer fragrans, meladrapple, malus, pine or even a twig from a redberry bush.
… meldarapple …

Quote
Some witches opt to use a single dowsing rod several times (perhaps owing to certain difficulties in crafting) simple covering one scent with a new one. While this generally works, the rod can become "confused" if too many scents are added to it and will eventually become useless.
… simply …

Approved.

It would be helpful if someone with blarrow rights could look this over. :)

I like this spell very much! So much so that my grey cells are busy trying to manufacture a way to weave it into a future Child of Spring chapter. :D

EDIT: I suppose something (someone?) will just need to get lost.

Files have been replaced again, but the question remains how long this will last. SMF support will have a look at the security problem.

It has been hacked. The third time in 3 days. I need to replace the changed files again (won't happen before evening) - and then see what the SMF support recommends as a strategy.

Arti, could you maybe take a look at the RPG board? I got a message from my anti-virus program and now I can't access the column on the right with the list of current threads and the shoutbox. Thankies :)
