I've noticed very considerable delays in server response times - 5 seconds when opening a page on the Dev board, around 20 on the RPG board. Even though these times oscillate considerable, I've seen this behaviour yesterday and again today. Support told me they're "balancing out the server", but I of course need to make a decision sooner or later whether we stay with Cyberlynk or not. So let me hear your experiences with the site, guestbook and the Forum(s) in general.

I've experienced a little bit of slowness here at work, but we've got a slow connection anyways. I can see if it remains the same when I head home.

Ridiculously slow this morning.  I thought it was just our Myongji servers but other sites are just fine, including graphics-heavy pages.   Yup, to me 5 seconds for a text page to load is ridiculous, sorry!

Oh, and to try and post that simple  message took a good fifteen seconds and then the message that the connection had 'timed out'!  Definitely not satisfactory.  Thankfully I had copied it to the clipboard.  I feel for anyone who is trying to make a development post which then might vanish into thin air.... so be warned, folks, and compose everything in Word before you type it in here atm!

Very slooooowwwwww.  Dek, this just has to remind you of the Star Trek episode where they hear the buzzing, who are aliens who are in a faster time rate and they kidnap Kirk, and they rest of the crew begins to move soooo ssssllloooowwww.

Dunno why my inner nerd is so strong today, but it is.  I'm thinking of donning thick black rimmed glasses and a pocket protector.

In the past few days I've been getting a white screen with the following message on it:

Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

If it happened to me in the Development boards, I went and tried to go somewhere in the RPG Boards and vice versa. I got the same message on the other board. The last time (a few minutes before posting this) it seemed to correct itself within a couple of minutes.

Not sure if it related to the new service provider or not, but I haven't noticed that prior to approximately a week ago.

Their support said that they'll fix it until yesterday, and since yesterday morning I don't have any performance issues. So the question is when you had these issues, Dek, because if you had them before that it's understandable as they were still working on the problem.

This is something quite weird. I had this yesterday, the I uploaded the search files again, tested them, they worked. It looks as if the server deleted the main file for whatever reason again... I'll check with the support!

Files have been replaced again, but the question remains how long this will last. SMF support will have a look at the security problem.

It has been hacked. The third time in 3 days. I need to replace the changed files again (won't happen before evening) - and then see what the SMF support recommends as a strategy.
