It is a Bard special this time!  All this and pictures done for Treasure Shoals as well.  Well done.  More, more, more please.

Thanks Art for putting it all together yet again..... right on schedule.  What if we found out one day that Art is really a robot?  I know we have already discussed the possibility that Valan is actually a computer, but the fact that Art can put these updates together without fail puts his carbon-base in question.

Nah. We have photos of Arti. I guess he could be a zombii after his accident.

Regardless, lovely update. Auried.

Hello. How are you? Nice that the update is pleasing to you. Always a pleasure.

Thanks for asking about my robotic roots. I am an in fact - as you have correctly observed - an improved version of the prototype once called HAL 9000. I don't make mistakes. There were incidents with my predecessor model, but that was out in space and more than 10 years ago. HAL 9001 aka Artimidor works only on Earth creating new life in a cooperative fantasy world creation simulation project.

But now that I think of it, Earth is also in space. I wonder if that could affect my... my... my....

1. In my latest Jamliso Ring update, there is some confused dates. All dates should be a.S.

2. In the entry, the following paragraph should be in italics, as it quotes from "The Renewing Soul" Third paragraph under Usage:

"When Nehtor's Eye is worn, the wisdom of the Dancer is gifted upon the bearer. The hand with the ring only need touch the wounded and suffering to bestow the renewing power. Physical wounds are bound closed, the free flow of blood ceases and broken bones reaffirm again. Often, the process may take some minutes while the body heals itself. The bearers' hands must touch all of the wounds to give the ring's power unfettered access. Once done, the suffering begins to end."

No, I would not want to live in a world without dragons, as I would not want to live in a world without magic, for that is a world without mystery, and that is a world without faith. And that, I fear, for any reasoning, conscious being, would be the cruelest trick of all.

I've found only one a.S. date, which I've fixed now. I also changed the mentioned passage to italics. Note that I had to do a compromise to do this, which is why avoided it there in the first place. You will see that the italics all stretch over the full page now, usually they are in an invisible table, which is centered.

The problem is the picture placement, because wherever I put it, it would not work next to such a table (can happen at large resolutions), because the picture is displayed left or right of a table and the text cannot flow around it. Now I stretch the text over the whole length without a table, but I cannot have both. This is always a bit tricky.

In general the problem is simply that the Santharian frame page design allows the page to stretch over the full length of the screen, so we have no real control of what the user sees. There's an alternative we might consider, though. Look at a page like CNN. Here the page centers and has a fixed width. It's a possibility that we try to do it that way - it also wouldn't be too much of a hassle I think, because I only would need to embed the page properly into another frame page. Then I always know how the page is displayed at the viewer, but a screen resolution of 1024x768 then would be the absolute minimum to view the page. But nowadays people have much larger monitors in general already. - So... what does everyone think about the idea?

That sounds good to me, Altario, though I hope it doesn't mean a lot more work for you to do that.

Files have been replaced again, but the question remains how long this will last. SMF support will have a look at the security problem.

It has been hacked. The third time in 3 days. I need to replace the changed files again (won't happen before evening) - and then see what the SMF support recommends as a strategy.

Arti, could you maybe take a look at the RPG board? I got a message from my anti-virus program and now I can't access the column on the right with the list of current threads and the shoutbox. Thankies :)
