Just got back from vacation - was FB'ed with the news (thank you Mira) and so just raced over here as soon as I read the message.

Sad and shocked.  The last time we chatted he sounded in such good spirits, already making plans for a return, some surprises up his sleeve for roleplaying and new ideas for the Dev Forum as well...

I miss him, as the big old orcish Tharoc with his bumbling thick accent and delightful uncoothness, and as the warm-hearted and thoughtful Steve with his bonsais and bike.    My condolences to his family and friends at this time.  We were honoured to be in that latter...and perhaps a bit the former...category for the time that he was with us and active in the Dream.

A last hug, blown out over the aether of faith and imagination, to our Warg/Harley rider comrade.

I don't know what to say.  I will miss you Steve.

I hope Steve's family can find comfort in knowing that he is well loved here and there are many who have missed him the past few months and will miss him even more with this sad news.

I haven't been fully on the internet, or indeed my email attached to my Facebook Account for the past few days. I only just went to the email account in question this morning. When I saw that there was a message there from Mira, and read the nature of it, I was shocked and saddened, as has already expressed by others. I wanted to come here and express my condolences to Steve (Tharoc)'s family as well.

I didn't know him as well as others, but always found him to be a pleasure and good fun to deal with.

It is sad that it took such sad tidings to bring me back briefly, but I couldn't have not come in to express my thoughts.

I was really shocked when I heard of that. A few years ago I had some PMs with him about Santhworld where he helped us, and I got to know him as a really funny guy full of ideas, inspiration and dedication in what he was doing. At that time he was roleplaying as the Silent Watcher. I guess it was never boring having him around.

Altough many of you got to know him a lot better, I too won't forget him, even from the short moments I had with him when we talked about the ideas he had.  cry

Just heard about this. I'm very sorry to hear what happened. Tharoc had a big heart and was a great guy to talk to. It's very saddening to hear of his passing.

He will be missed.

This is just stunning. Tharoc was an absolutely brilliant person - vivacious, enthusiastic and friendly. He'll be sorely missed, both for his entries and comments and for his company.

Files have been replaced again, but the question remains how long this will last. SMF support will have a look at the security problem.
