Okay, so I'm developing a place outside of Milkengrad called "The Grove of Embers". The concept of the place is that it's a memorial or shrine to commemorate the first contact between the Milken Brownies, and the Helcrani. I plan on crafting a festival around this place to add to Milken culture.

My problem is that I'm trying to think of a way to say the Styrásh equivalent of this.

The word "linén" means "little" or "small", and "lón" means "forest". Grove could be "linénlón" maybe? Embers seems kind of tricky to me. I'm quite a novice when it comes to the Elvin Tongue, but here is my best shot. Hopefully someone can come along and help me clean it up a bit. "Náfreán" is the Styrásh verb for "to fade". "Efér" is the word for fire. Náfreí is the present participle form if I understand correctly. Since, as I read, the ending is dropped when making compound words, and two 'e's would be kind of weird together (IMHO), could "náfrefér be okay to use for "ember"?

If these words would work, the resulting word might be Linénlón'náfrefér. This is a mouthful, and the Milken, like all Brownies, have this wonderful tendency to shorten words (looking at their original linguistic mechanics before they adopted the Elvish Tongue), so I think they might have shortened it to something more tolerable, such as "Linlón'náfrér".

Once again, I'm a relative novice regarding this language, and I'm not even sure if an ounce of this would be correct. Perhaps those more knowledgeable in the language can provide some help?

EDIT: Or perhaps it could be Náfrér'linlón, as it would be "Ember Grove" instead of "Grove Ember". That sounds better to me for some reason.

Well, I guess you've derived this really pretty nicely, Eldor! No problem there... grin thumbup

I would also go for "Náfrér'linlón", which seems to be the most logical word order and doesn't sound that bad either. Great idea with the memorial/shrine for commemoration the first contact between the Milken Brownies and the Helcrani. So yup, I'd say: Go for it!  cool

Should I add the new words, linénlón and náfrefér, to the appropriate thread for new Styrásh words then? If so, should I also add Náfrér'linlón as well?
