Searching far and wide for all my friends in Santharia.  Perhaps they are vacationing in the grand City of Salsair.  I can only hope that some of them can be found before this world falls prey to the denizens of the Netherworld.

Comments Welcome!

I provided a labelled version so you can tell which sections of the city are intended to be shown.  Got most of it in, however I couldn't seem to fit in the Sunken City unfortunately.

:D  Well, I'm not sure how everyone else will feel, but the author of the entry absolutely loves it.  In particular, my favourite part is that whitewashed wattle and daub timber framed building above the wall in front of the White Citadel.  That is exactly what I had in mind.

Fisherman's Quay is a joy to behold. thumbup

Love the 6 Maidens area with the statues on the bridges. grin

All in all, a great work, Seeker.  I'm very happy with it.  Thank you. :)

Once again a very cool picture, Seeker and of course aura +1thumbup Quite a lot was put in there as well, and the best of course is that it reflects what Altario wrote and makes it all visible and palpable for us... Very much appreciated! :D Aside from the included sightseeing stuff that identifies Salsair I also like these nice touches like the reflection of the White Citadel in the water (or the houses on the left), the diversity of the boats mooring on the quay, the rounded bridges, etc. Down to the tiny details you might miss on first glance like the castles on the grassy hill. Lovely! clap

One small thing I noticed is that some proportions look a bit strange, e.g. when you look at the "isle" to the left which has a pretty large house there (well, probably for building ships, so its size is somewhat explainable), but then again the adjacent structures to the left look very small compared to it, being about the height of the first building's door...

A second thing that could be still dealt with is the lighting, though that's a bit difficult to explain. Methinks the sun as the light source shines from one position, probably from the front left, so this should be obvious when you look at the wall below the Citadel: it's lighter on the left, and the shadows are on the right side. The walls to the left or the right of the picture don't quite match that. Those on the right are very light, but should probably be darker, and those on the left should probably be a tad lighter. Here and there the shadows could also be touched up at a building or two (like the Exomater Square tower). That's just an observation that occurred to me, but I don't know if it's that easily to adjust, though.

At any rate: As you put the names on the map as well, this should be another great picture to make into a Milkengrad-like Flash format where you can show and hide the names as you wish... Oh, and eventually it would be cool to have a large version of the pic at hand, so that parts of it can be cut out. Great stuff at any rate, Seeker!  cool Big Grin

Bravo.  Once again you have knocked the Mad Butterflies out of the playing ring, Seeker.

Thanks Bard.  I need to get to the suggested changes so we can get this one posted.

ok at long last I made the changes suggested by Art.  I hope I addressed the lighting correctly.  Let me know what you think.

As I was very impressed with this the first time around, it still gets a big thumbs up from me.  thumbup (thumb up scaled down to fit within the parameters of the posting window)

Very nice update, Seeker, very cool! The buildings and the rocks in front of the wall e.g. now look very three dimensional compared to the first version, where parts of the picture looked quite flat, that makes a nice difference! Size change on the land to the left is also very satisfying :) And I agree with Alt the picture was already great before the adjustments, and now it's even a tad greater...  thumbup Excellent work as usual and aura +1 - should then be made into a Flash movie à la Milkengrad once it goes up on site... Will see to that!  grin
