Hello to everyone.

I'm a geology major at a small liberal arts college. My love of fantasy started with fairy tales and progressed from there. I've been poking around Santharia for at least a year and a half now, after I ran across it when I was trying to find some resources for a Dungeons and Dragons campaign I was running.

Initially, mostly the beastiary and the herbarium were the main areas that I was looking through, but soon I was looking through more and more of the site. It seemed like such an amazing and wonderful place and I decided that someday I would try to get involved.  I wanted to be at least a little bit prepared first, so I started playing through nepris and other modules in Santhaworld. I really enjoyed them (and still am enjoying them since I've gotten stuck a few times and also have been rather busy) and was actually hoping to know more than I do before I registered, but here I am.

I'm interested in just about everything, but I would especially like to work on areas dealing with sailing and ships, someday. Also, I would love to work with plants and maybe magic. Plants seems like it might be the easiest starting point for somebody with little knowledge, but I don't know. Ships and anything maratime or nautical are what I would really like to work on.

I love to draw, but I rarely have time, I can write semi-decently, but I would say that my main skill is probably getting really absorbed in research. Not that I do research perfectly, by any means, but I will often spend huge amounts of time researching something.

Also, this is a question about decorum. As I have recently gotten stuck in Nepris, would it be acceptable for a newly registered person such as myself to post a question to the spoiler thread?

Hello and welcome aboard, Lysandri! wave

As you're into sailing and ships, make sure to play Seeker's Santhworld game "Treasure Shoals", which is an adventure that involved pirates and the like, so that one should be right up your alley. :) Anyway, we can always use more people interested in contributing, and if you want to focus on the nautical side of things this looks good to me. Personally I'm writing an admittedly very unusual philosophical/poetical tale of a sailor as well at the moment (well, the sea is only the metaphor), but therefore I'm also in the process of doing some more research in this regard, so I'm reading two books about sea travelling right now. Feel free to make the world richer with an entry on a related subject ;) Plants and magic is also possible of course, plants are easier usually (at least for starters)... *hehe*

And yup, of course you can post a question in the spoiler thread, that's what it's there for :) - At any rate: Welcome to the Dream!  thumbup

Welcome Lysandri

Sounds like you're ready to get started!   thumbup  Sure starting with plants is not a problem.  however I see no reason why you cant jump into some nautical stuff.  check out the Gears and Tools section of the Miscellaneous menu.  There are a couple of boats and nautical things there but not much.  But they will give you a good idea of the format of that type of entry.   We could sure use some more boats, ships, nautical devices, etc to enliven our seas.  Good luck.

Hello all! It's been a minute since I poked my nose in here. Can't remember if I ever did anything useful.

Ah, too bad that internet is so restricted in China, Ferra. Can't be much fun surfing the web that way if Big Brother's watching you... Hope you enjoy your stay nevertheless!

Hi, dear Arti and other developers!

This year I am in China and cannot use any Google services including YouTube. For this reason I stopped uploading new Nepris videos. I can also not read any comments there.

It just crossed my mind that this information might be useful to you.
