Draconic Language

So, I've been thinking on it and decided to give it a shot.

Would anyone else be interested or think it a good idea to work on the Draconic language? Because I sure am interested in this possibility, and after reading the entry on the Ice Dragons, I figured they'd be an excellent way to study the language of these species due to their tendency of getting familiars and allowing the family of said familiars to be free, thus it doesn't sounds too unlikely that one or two of the children of these familiars reach the compendium with notes about the Draconic language.

I've also been thinking it, and have figured out more or less what kind of vowels and consonants would be usable by a dragon due to it's physiology, of course I need to develop this idea some more but it's still a good start.

Are Dragons supposed to be myths, or are dragons out there, with perhaps one interested in helping out other kinds with its vast wisdom and knowledge?

I don't think there should be just one draconic language. If a language has more than one population of speakers, each population will soon develop its own dialect, which would gradually develop into separate languages, unless the different populations frequently speak to each other. Dragons are very diverse and found all over Caelereth, so they probably speak many different languages.

At least some dragons are real. It's possible that some species are entirely mythical though.

I was thinking about that too, probably they get influenced from the languages spoken in the areas nearby, though I'm not sure if they'd be languages in themselves already, I'm inclined to believe they'd have dialects or accents (Like Australian English and American English... Same language base, different words and pronunciation) if only because they live incredibly long lives and thus slow down their evolution, both in language and biologically.

This of course is just a supposition, I'm no expert in languages to affirm how far and how fast a language would evolve among such long living beings.

I know Kalina, awhile ago, was working on redoing a lot of the dragon entries. I actually have one in the works...still...but yeah. I'm not 100% sure without digging what her thoughts were, but they may be on the board somewhere. If I have time later, I may try and dig them up for ya, if you're interested.

I found Kalina's schedule, and I'd love to help some with some of these entries, of course we need to coordinate. My main interest right now however are the languages, so any note regarding it is very appreciated =D
