Here is some inspiration. 

The Winter's Flame candle.  The process to make such a candle is shrouded in mystery and can only be found in the rarest of spell books.  However it is common knowledge that once lit, the Winter's Flame candle plunges the land round about into a deep cold winter.  The reach of this magic-induced winter is dependent on the size of the candle.  If the candle is left to burn to its end, the melted ice from the candle is a potent spring water that gives life to the plants it feeds.  Trees that are fed from this water source often retain magical properties themselves.  If the water is drunk it can serve to promote fertility, often resulting in twins, triplets or even more children. Children born to the Winter's Flame water tend to be endowed with mystical abilities.
