GUIDELINES ON HOW TO POST PROPOSALS

This thread was made in order to harbour all kinds of proposals for stuff you find referenced on the site, which should be made into a Bestiary entry.

For example if you write an entry and mention an animal with a certain name, but haven't done an entry on it, just post the details here, so that other people can pick up the idea and work e.g. in this case on a Bestiary entry for the beast.

If you post something here, make sure to do it in a certain syntax, though, so that it looks for example like this:

Violet Sky-Dancer: Butterfly
Referenced by: Coren FrozenZephyr
Search Link: not completed yet
Details: One of the largest members of the butterfly family native of northeastern Sihitara (a Krean metropolis). A group of priestesses from the High Temple of Ankriss (christening themselves as the Violet Dancers after the well-known butterfly) serve as the guard of honor for the Warden of State.

- The name of the beast should be in yellow and bold and his profession/function.
- Below you should write "Referenced by" so that everyone knows who has made the entry where the reference word/name is mentioned.
- The other sections should be in orange.
- Also essential is a Search Link. In order to get such a search link, click here first. Then type in what you're searching and click on Submit. - Now copy the URL from the page which appears now and use it at your post.
- At the Details section specify anything an entry should definitely contain. Not necessarily required, but helps everyone a lot to know what you mean.

Want to claim an entry for yourself? Then

Bestiary entries which could be worked on:

Violet Sky-Dancer: Butterfly
Referenced by: Coren FrozenZephyr
Search Link: not completed yet
Details: One of the largest members of the butterfly family native of northeastern Sihitara (a Krean metropolis). A group of priestesses from the High Temple of Ankriss (christening themselves as the Violet Dancers after the well-known butterfly) serve as the guard of honor for the Warden of State.

Quaerash (monstrous lizard)
Referenced by: Artimidor
Search Link: click here.
Details: A monstrous lizard with big tusks, living in the region of the High Fores. Caltharians "decorated" their battering rams with the heads of these beasts - picture from Faugar already available of such a battering ram (see entry).

Another Bestiary entry someone could do:

RESERVED Shatí Raín Bird (small bird)
Referenced by: Erian Melor
Search Link: click here
Details: A small bird that nests on the ground within fields of Burning Grass. It is incredibly quick and can easily dodge the blades of grass as they attempt to capture prey. The bird has a feisty temperment and mobs of them have been known to attack snakes as they attempted to eat the birds' eggs. They feed upon the seeds of the Burning Grass, such seeds are indigestible to any other creature.

The sun falls from the evening sky,
this life I cannot abide.
The eternal night draws nigh,
I seek the loving embrace of my lost bride.

Aka‘pi: Grazing Animal, Ráhaz-Dáth
Reverenced by: Talia Sturmwind
Search Link: click here
Detail: The Aka‘pi is a wild gregarious animal, grazing wherever it can find some green, from the Narfost Plains and the Aj‘Nuvic Grounds to the Oka‘Seri Flood Plains. It is the little sister of the aj‘nuvic and shares a lot of its characteristics concerning the adaption to the desert, has slightly different body build (flatter back), but is different in behaviour, less intelligent, thick fur (despite the desert!) from beige to dark brown. Herds are lead by the oldest female. Though mainly living on grasses, it hunts all smaller animals as well, if the green gest scarce, up to the size of a dune mouse.  Especially pregnant females are omnivore.
The Shendar have domesticated it and use it as their main source of milk, meat, hides and wool. It is the animal which  they use to carry their various goods (from salt to occasional visitors) for their travelling through the desert. Though most times a friendly animal, it is not always easy to handle and has therefore not spread beyond the desert realms of southern Santharia.

Icelands  Wison
Referenced by: Takór Salenár
Claimed by: Altario
Search Link: Please base this beast on the Bison
Details: One of the most important foodsources of the Icetribes is a fairly huge bovin, the Wison, though it is of course not to compare with the thunderfoot. Its dark dense , bluish fur enables it to face the cold, harsh climat of its native lands. Its main diet is the blue hrugchuck grass.
It is domesticated to a certain extend as well. Though the nomadic icetribes hunt  the wild ones for food, the domesticated females are used as a beast of burden as well,  these are too valuable to be eaten except in times of great need. Males are sometimes used as riding animals, very suitable as war mounts, but only if tamed and trained properly! Only few will achieve this goal. It is only possible if a calf born from a domesticated female is raised by the future rider.
Though domesticated females are mostly good to have, it is a fierce, dangerous beast, especially the males.

(Name proposals:  Wisob, Wisent, Nivob , Nossib, or similar)

Please base this beast on the bison (see link above), but change its features , so that it fits to its environement AND  santharise it. The legs could be e.g. shorter, the fur longer. Have its feet any characteristics to be able to wander around in the partly deep snow? How does it manage to get to its main diet, the blue grass? Is it able to cross the waterpassages, if they are not frozen? In which parts of the icelands coast is it present? (Not Wicker Islands please).   What are the predators?.....
