Just thought I'd pass along this info regarding Grun:

I was trying to do a pic for Pikel (avatar for Thaedras) in Photoshop and my skillz were so 1337 that it crashed my computer.  Now it won't restart and it's making these really funny noises.  Hopefully it'll be fixed by tomorrow but if Dave can't get the time to look at it or if the problem is serious this time, I might be away for longer.  I can't get on Santharia here cos this is my work computer, so if you could post this or something to this effect to let everyone know where I am, that'd be great.

Hopefully, her comp will be fixed soon and this post will become unnecessary. With any luck, she'll be back before anyone even reads this thread. Its horrible that she's missing her own inauguration!:x

An update from Grun:

The computer situation looks fairly dire, it seems that one of our hard drives went phut, and it's the one with our OS on it so the comp won't go without it.  Dave's endeavouring to copy windows on to another hard drive but I thought they were all full... I hope I don't lose all my information *bites nails*  It's amazing how much stuff I have on that thing - all my art and entries, my uni stuff, my cv, the stuff for twilight (thankfully most of which you have copies of); not to mention access to websites - I have nothing to do without it!  I'm currently playing KOTOR on xbox to fill the gap left by Santh, but it's not the same... :`(    *slaps self out of it*

Oh dear, seems as though this problem is serious.

Indeed, doesn't really seem that good:(  Let's hope they'll manage to get at least the data from the old hard drive, but I'm sure it will last a while.

I had Christmas celebration at the office yesterday, so didn't get home before midnight to check the boards, so sorry for my own absence as well - will get to this week's update as soon as this working day is over:D

Hello!  :hug

I have a temporary solution of a laptop which my dear man brought from his work, so I should be able to be on a bit more. In saying that, I won't be up to my usual volume of presence for a few reasons - one being that I am not a mac user, so I'm taking twice as long to do anything cos of finding which buttons do what!

As far as my data goes, I'm hoping it will be fine cos it was our c drive which fizzled.  That's the one which contained windows, while most of my stuff was stored on a seperate drive, which I think is contained in a seperate physical hard drive.  So basically it's just a matter of finding a new hard drive upon which to install windows, or finding room on one of our other hard drive to install it on so that we can access the stuff.  Hehe, fiance briefly played with the idea of networking the pc to the laptop so that we could access our files through the laptop's os but he'd have to do that thru the bios... needless to say he gave up on that one fairly quickly!

Right, now I have to go to work but I shall make time at about this time tomorrow to get on and catch up on all I've missed :D

Well, this seems like much better news, Grunok:D  Hard drive failures aren't that funny, especially if you have your data on it... But the way it looks getting a new hard drive and connecting it with the other physical hard drive with your data on it would already solve your problems, which shouldn't be that much trouble all in all. - So let's hope you indeed have a second hard drive in this computer with all your important data on it, Grunok, and then - with your fiancé's support - things should soon be back to normal:D
