Brownies

I have to confess to knowing absolutely nothing about Brownies, but I am working on the Quallian and as the Vale is the closest thing to it, do you think that their would be any cantact between the two races?

They are pretty close, huh?
I always thought of Brownies as being slightly resentful of the elven arrogance, and teaching their kids that there are no such thing as elves. That said....

The Vale Brownies live (also fairly isolationist) in a valley with natural barriers all around it except in the west, where a long, narrow gorge slices through the rock to let the stream out. Any hunting, exploring, or trading parties would leave the Vale from here.

There are periods of history where these parties would happen on occasion, perhaps once a month minimum to once a year maximum (sometimes up to hundreds of years between these periods, but lasting 50-200 years)

I guess that during these times they would have to have some contact with the elves of the Quallian, especially from following the NW creek deeper into the forest, and the NE road perhaps as well. Going through the underbrush from a northerly direction would work as well.

So, sounds like yes. Whether or not this is emphasized among the Quallian elves is up to you. They live a long time....they'd probably remember these things, however they viewed them.
Does that northern road lead to the dwarven Kor Donion or where? Pls let me know your thoughts.

OK so they keep themselves to themselves, so I don't have to worry about an intergrated history. good. But the elves know about brownies exsistance. Also good.

as for the roads. hmmm, the northern road primarily heads to santhala and onto Argor. I see no reason therefore that their should not be a split in this road to Kor donion.

Is their a name for the river which flows around the vale, the one snake river flows into? I want to make my river a tributary to it.

Well, I guess you mean the river at this URL www.santharia.com/maps/de...ievale.htm which is called "Thevelin" there. Though the map says so, we can't name it this way, cause Thevelin somehow transfered to being the old name for the town of Nyermersys. If you have a good name for the river, Wren, we can use it

It's probably a bit outside the Ylfferhim's as well. could come from the Qualehorihim (Could we not have given them a name that's a bit easier to spell). Shame I haven't started work on them. I'd probably call it the Du'dwir. But that's welsh (without mutations) not evlen

means dark (or black 'du')water (dwr). Cos water through a forest where the canopy is thick isn't blue, its black. Course that doesn't apply along its whole course. Just a though.

Well, we could have two names for them as well. One name how they are called in elven (Quaelhoirhim) and one the humans use for them e.g.

Well, there exist only 3 references to the Quaelhoirhim on the whole site, so renaming would be possible without major changes, I guess! You can use the name you prefer - at least it's your tribe
