"Rice seed is sown into nursery fields in March and transplanted by hand into the padday fields at the end of April or early May....placed 3.8 cm apart....four weeks later, when seedlings are 15-20 cm, they are transplanted to the paddy fields. 6-8 seedlings are planted 15 cm apart in clumps.....so....they can be harvested with one stroke of the sickle. Paddy fields are kept flooded throughout the growing season....harvesting is done by hand....during the dry season....In autumn, the land is either left faloow, or, more commonly, rape is sown to clean the fields.... Rape is harcested in April and the field ploughed and harrowed in preparation for rice transplantation."

As the text of Greybark says and somebody else commented, the rice is pregrown(?), maybe near the house and thoroughly watched and watered till the seedlings are big and resistend enough to be planted out in the big field. Maybe the earth itself in which the grains are set is treated in a special way, so that no viruses and other seedling killing things can take over.
We have a sickle, one of the goddesses has one. This planting in clumps sounds interesting. I think they do it, because the one hand holds the clumps/bushels(?),the other uses the sickle to cut it. so the rice doesn#t fall to the ground - the water should be gone by this time.

Files have been replaced again, but the question remains how long this will last. SMF support will have a look at the security problem.

It has been hacked. The third time in 3 days. I need to replace the changed files again (won't happen before evening) - and then see what the SMF support recommends as a strategy.

Arti, could you maybe take a look at the RPG board? I got a message from my anti-virus program and now I can't access the column on the right with the list of current threads and the shoutbox. Thankies :)
