ABC - A Santharian Primer

For the edification of Sorren's children (at least the human ones - coz the dwarves and elves and so on would have a completely different take on what should be included!)

An ABC Primer for Sorren’s Children

A is for ADLEMIR, tallest of trees / its Simn seeds go floating abroad on the breeze.
B stands for BEAR, and savage is he / in Cartashian mountains he goes roaming free.
C is for CANDLEBUSH, giving us light / oily the berries make candles so bright.
D is the DOCH NUT, so salty to taste / but eat not too many, they thicken the waist!
E stands for EFRYST, a weapon of might / three wooden pieces send armies to flight.
F we name FORIDUS, that we know well / a plant and a spice grown for farmers to sell.
G is for GRIFFON, a beast so absurd / yet handsome the cross between lion and bird!
H is the HALOEN, that all desire / a guide and protector, a bird made of fire.
I is INJERA, and its other name / the Sun, Foiros’ fire, a great orb of flame.
J name JAMLISO, a mage of renown / a ring he enchanted to call healing down.
K is the letter for KIES, so tall / its Tra fruit is shaped like a tasty red ball.
L stands for LORAHOUGH, ready to take / its pods burning bright like the flame of a drake!
M we call MERMAID, a creature of sea / she swims in the water and singeth sweetly.
N now is NYERMERSYS, town of two wars / majestic its towers and scarred are its doors.
O is for OGRE with nose broad and flat / its teeth they are sharp and its belly is fat.
P is the PITWORM, from R’unor so far / ‘tis said they are tasty, if look be no bar!
Q let be QUALLIAN, a forest most fair / the Adlemir Tree and the Cloewen live there.
R must be ROSE, a beautiful bloom / its flowers and fragrance will grace any room.
S stands for SOR’INYT, a tribe of the sand / where women are warriors and men, they say, banned.
T is for THAR, like a star from the skies / he ruled four kingdoms, a lord great and wise.
U let be ULGAROTH, placid and large / barbarian-ridden, the size of a barge!
V is the VOID, an etherial dream / where nothing but Ava is as it might seem.
W WARG, a beast of the hills / ferocious in hunting and making its kills.
X stands for XEUA, the spirit between / connector of all things and yet never seen.
Y is the YAHRLE, stops bleeding and pain / cut it and crush it, t’will flower again.
Z it is ZYLOTH, now endeth this page / beware of its fangs and its terrible rage!
