Hell Became My Precinct

My...My...My...Didn't even know this existed until now. I took a leave of absence and missed out on a lot of things.

I was reading a lot of poetry by Xarl, and rembered I had some shoved away in a locked door, waiting to open it up again. In the latter part of 1973 and the early part of 1974, I just wrote poetry. I lived and breathed poetry, and read everything I could get my hands on pertaining to poetry. I did no other type of recreation with the exception of the occasional hockey game. after all I am only human :lol

The cursed subtle mold,
That so deviously curbed my life,
Brought me in the cold,
And became my only strife,

Wickedness and treachery,
Haunted me every day,
My ship was my mutiny,
With little time to play,

Defeated I lay in evils lair,
Crumbled under the smothering dawn,
Day by day, in lost despair,
I searched in the darkness drawn,

The light became invisible,
My mind an empty dream,
The serpents sword, was invincible,
It shone a dreadful gleam,

Night became into night,
As I longed for the light of day,
Courage was lost for sight,
And the darkness was to no array,

Endlessly my bones became weary,
Thoughts became extinct,
Slowly my madness became fury,
Hell became my precinct.

If we had a hell this would be a perfect poem, but I don't think we have one. Do we?

Unfortunately that's about the best line in the whole thing. Personally I like the last stanza. BTJM

You know, the more I read it, Winlok, the more I think this could be a very apt poem depicting the fall of the rebel angels from heaven as they find themselves in hell now and particularly that of the Morningstar.

Hmmm!...my middle name is Allen only it's Allan with an a.
Christopher Allan Poe...sort of has a ring to it eh? :lol
